  • The Lab Engineer supports the setup, operation, maintenance
  • continuous improvement of engineering lab environments used for product development, integration, validation

  • able to troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced engineering environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, configure, and maintain laboratory equipment, test stations, racks, fixtures, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Support engineering teams with hardware bring-up, integration, validation, debugging, and test execution.
  • Perform equipment installation, cable fabrication, soldering, rework, component replacement, and basic circuit modifications.
  • Operate common laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, multimeters, network analyzers, and environmental test equipment.
  • Collect, organize, and document test data, equipment configurations, procedures, and results.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, cabling, power, communication, network, and test equipment issues.
  • Maintain equipment calibration records, preventative maintenance schedules, inventory, and lab documentation.
  • Develop or modify basic scripts and tools to automate equipment control, data collection, reporting, or repetitive lab activities.
  • Support lab safety, organization, access control, equipment handling, and configuration management practices.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, facilities, and other stakeholders to resolve lab issues and support new test capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve lab reliability, efficiency, repeatability

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles including switchgear, UPS, transformers, and circuit breakers -
  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent practical experience in electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, computer engineering, engineering technology, or a related field. -
  • Experience working in an engineering, electronics, hardware, integration, manufacturing, or test laboratory. -
  • Hands-on experience using common electrical or electronic test equipment. -
  • Ability to read basic electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical procedures. -
  • Experience with cable assembly, soldering, electronic rework, hardware installation, or equipment repair. -
  • Basic experience with Linux, Windows, command-line tools, or laboratory equipment software. -
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems using a structured and methodical approach. -
  • Strong documentation, organization, communication, and task management skills. -
  • Ability to safely lift, move, install, and connect laboratory equipment as required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical discipline. -
  • Experience supporting product integration, verification, validation, qualification, or regression testing. -
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, serial interfaces, Ethernet, USB, CAN, GPIB, or other equipment communication protocols. -
  • Experience with RF, wireless, telecommunications, embedded systems, aerospace, automotive, robotics, or other complex hardware systems. -
  • Experience building and maintaining equipment racks, automated test stations, test fixtures, or hardware-in-the-loop environments. -
  • Familiarity with calibration programs, equipment inventory systems, configuration control, and laboratory safety practices. -
  • Experience troubleshooting issues across hardware, software, test equipment, power, cabling, and network interfaces. -
