Job description: Allstate Canada Group is currently going through an important transformation of its Data environment with the implementation of a new Policy, Claims and Billing systems while continuing to support legacy platforms. We are growing our team and are actively looking to hire an Analyst - Operational Reporting Enablement to join our team!

Reporting to the Manager, Operational Reporting Enablement, you will be providing key technical expertise to acquire, investigate, manipulate and analyze data to support Allstate Canada Group’s business plans and results. The candidate will require an in-depth understanding of the data structure and environment and understand the implications from the day-to-day insurance business.

This role enables accurate, traceable, and auditable data and analytics to support ongoing, ad‑hoc, and go‑live reporting needs for internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will require an in-depth understanding of the data structure and environment as well as the implications of insurance business processes on regulatory reporting outcomes.

The candidate will also foster efficiency, bring forward creative solutions, and create awareness of opportunities to strengthen data quality and enablement across reporting initiatives. A proactive approach, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to think beyond standard approaches are expected.

Accountabilities: Interpret the data from the user interface of the different source systems and master how it translates into the backend database Build strong relationships with Claims, Policy and Finance teams to enable their needs in operational reporting and analytics needs Help design and provide requirements for new or enhanced operational reporting data, analytics, and supporting reporting solutions Monitor and ensure data quality of curated operational reporting data sets using appropriate validation, reconciliation, and audit‑support methods Be heavily involved in testing of newly integrated data sources and/or environments Develop and improve SAS/SQL programs to perform various complex analyses Analyze change requests in the source systems or projects, assess their impact to operational reporting data layers and downstream reporting Collaborate with DBAs, other IT teams, Architecture as required Implement internal data process improvement: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesign/restructure database for more efficiency Develop expertise and aim to become a subject matter expert on the entire data and analytics ecosystem Develops a solid tactical understating of how the business works, what their operational processes look like, and provides directions as to where data and analytics could be leveraged to make more effective data-driven decisions.

Understands data visualization and develops solutions using tools such as Power BI in order to effectively communicate and support the translation of data and analytics insights in business terms to key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience applying analytical techniques to solve business problems and support data-driven decision making, with a strong focus on accuracy and reliability Strong business acumen and the ability to communicate insights in both technical and non-technical terms.
  • Skilled in data visualization tools - Power BI Proactive, curious mindset with the ability to quickly learn and navigate new data models and evolving environments.
  • Hands-on experience with modern analytics ecosystems and methodologies (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, ETL processes, data modeling, and data governance).
  • Proficiency in SQL/SAS programming for data development, cleansing, validation, integrity checks, reconciliation, and process optimization.
  • Skilled in MS Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and VBA.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
