- Location(s) Doral, Florida, Lake Mary, Florida Details Responsible for the settlement of assigned claims within a stipulated monetary authority and ensuring that all are concluded promptly, equitably
- economically within the provisions of the policy contract, in accordance with the damages presented, Company Best Practices and legal regulations. T he cases handled may require an extensive coverage investigation along with evaluation of moderate to complex coverage issues. The cases handled will be of moderate to serious nature and may require extensive review of injuries and treatments more serious than a basic soft tissue injury. Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigation of varying complexity, represented casualty, physical and property damage claims, utilizing investigative tools, based on claims and state regulatory guidelines and procedures established by the department.
- Develop a comprehensive strategy to identify and resolve coverage, liability, injury, and property damage, efficiently and accurately.
- Examine all provisions, endorsements of the claim policy and other records to verify applicable insurance coverage and make financial decisions within authority limits.
- Develop and implement negotiation strategies when communicating settlement related information to insureds, claimants, attorneys, body shop personnel, medical providers, and other parties.
- Conduct analyses of represented bodily injury claims. Research and interpret injury related statutory provisions and case law, examine points of impact and extent of damage relative to the injury claimed, access prior injury information, obtain proper release documentation, obtain medical reports
- conduct detailed injury-specific research relating to the injury claimed, thoroughly document injury related treatment history and develop a comprehensive settlement strategy.
- Thoroughly document the progression of each claim and set bodily injury reserves ensuring an accurate and organized record.
- Attend depositions/mediation/arbitration/pre-trials/trials and all other legal proceedings, when needed.
- Act as mentor and provide staff training.
- Collaborate with various departments to efficiently move claim toward final resolution.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of three years of casualty claim experience in the auto insurance industry.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite products and webbased applications.
- Must obtain and maintain state required licensing, where applicable.
- Initiative, sound judgement, and discretion. REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:
- Comprehensive understanding of insurance policies and knowledge of relevant state laws and regulations governing auto insurance claims.
- Time management skills ensuring deadlines are met for claim resolution.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate claim information, assess damages, and make informed decisions regarding liability and settlement amounts.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with various stakeholders.
- Excellent customer service skills.
