- Define what ‘production-ready’ means for the next generation of fulfilment technology. As a Reliability Engineer within the New Technology Introduction (NTI) team, you will be the primary reliability subject matter expert for emerging automation and robotics — from autonomous mobile robots and robotic picking systems to next-generation sortation and material handling equipment. You’ll identify where new systems fall short of maintainability, serviceability
- reliability standards, work with development teams to find solutions
- update requirements to prevent issues from recurring across the network. You will engage with engineering teams, vendors
- operations partners to represent RME reliability requirements, provide input into revised designs
- evolve standards to keep pace with new technology types. You will balance operational needs with technical constraints, striving to optimise system design for long-term performance while maintaining a strong focus on standards, scalability
- supportability. As the team scales, you’ll have the opportunity to shape reliability standards that become the baseline for our global network and mentor future team members. You will be based in North America and travel to development sites across NA, with international travel as needed. Key job responsibilities What you’ll do: Lead reliability assessments and design reviews for new automation and robotics technologies, identifying gaps in maintainability, serviceability
- reliability and working with development teams to resolve them before deployment. Define and maintain reliability standards, maintenance strategies
- serviceability requirements — updating them as new technology types reveal gaps. Conduct FMEA, reliability modelling
- life cycle cost analysis, working with development teams on design improvements and tracking MTBF, MTTR, availability
- maintainability KPIs. Partner with engineering teams, vendors
- stakeholders to represent RME reliability requirements during design, pilot
- full-scale rollout phases. Develop preventive maintenance programs, spare parts strategies
- maintenance documentation for new technologies. Investigate equipment failures and performance degradation to identify root causes, drive solutions with development teams
- update standards to prevent re-occurrence across the network. Monitor reliability performance metrics, identify recurring issues
- drive improvements back into standards and readiness criteria. Identify where maintenance processes are overly complex or inconsistent
- drive simplification through updated standards and common requirements.
