Responsibilities
- The qualified candidate will mentor and lead junior and mid-level engineers to build proofs of concept for one-of-a-kind capabilities.
- Key responsibilities include: Performing peer testing and code review, troubleshooting and debugging issues, contributing to all levels of the architecture, maintaining key system technical documentation
- developing a familiarity with new tools and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and further implementation of best practices in software development, unit testing, agile scrum, and DevSecOps.
- Collaborating with the team to author technical reports and demonstrate capabilities to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Work Environment: Location: On-Site – 8300 Professional Place, Landover, MD Travel Requirements: Up to 50% (CONUS and OCONUS) Working Hours: Willingness to work outside of normal working hours Minimum Qualifications: Experience/Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another technical field with 5 years of experience or Master’s degree and no years of relevant experience or
- Masters (MS/MA) in a related field with 3 years of experience Active Security Clearance: Secret required to start , with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance Active Security+ Certification, or equivalent, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months from start date Strong knowledge of C, C++, Java, or other C-style, cross-platform programming languages Experience developing software for and configuring Linux and/or Unix systems Demonstrated experience writing, testing, and debugging software Ability to develop and document system-level design options, including integration with commercial and government off-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) systems and software Experience with version control, issue tracking, and documentation tools Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Adaptability and initiative to perform a wide variety of tasks to achieve program success Desired Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance Active Security+ Certification Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems Linux development experience at both user and kernel levels Experience modifying and compiling large open-source codebases Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker Experience with DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, etc.
- Experience with dnf package management using local repositories Basic Compensation: $101,500 - $152,200 (This range is for Maryland only) The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
- Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
- Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
