This role leads a team responsible for the strategic vision and roadmap for a technical product or products with cross-divisional impact, demonstrating a deep understanding of the product(s) and associated business areas. Products often have enterprise-wide implications.

This role also incorporates market and consumer trend analysis to identify innovation opportunities and optimize product direction based on real-world feedback. Core Responsibilities: May lead or mentor a small team or act as an individual contributor with leadership responsibilities, supporting hiring, onboarding, and development where applicable.

Owns data management and data product execution for a key product/domain, ensuring alignment to broader enterprise data strategy. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices, improving data quality and usability.

Coaches team members and partners on data management, governance practices, and transformation initiatives. Partners with stakeholders to ensure consistent data ownership, stewardship, and governance practices across business and technology teams.

Leads execution of data initiatives and transformation programs within their domain, including defining requirements, data models, and delivery plans. Applies analytical techniques to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and user experience for business stakeholders.

Contributes to priority setting and planning discussions, aligning domain-level data initiatives with business goals. Drives best practices in data engineering, pipelines, ETL/ELT, and data integration, working closely with engineering teams.

Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Manages the data lifecycle for their product/domain, including ingestion, transformation, governance, and consumption. Researches trends and best practices in data management and governance to continuously enhance solutions.

Defines data structures, models, and governance controls in collaboration with engineering and analytics teams. Creates and maintains data documentation, metadata, and governance artifacts, ensuring transparency and usability. Uses feedback and metrics to enhance data capabilities and inform roadmap improvements within their scope.

Qualifications Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required. Graduate degree preferred. Minimum of eight years related business experience. Three years of leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational projects preferred.

Previous people-leadership experience strongly preferred. Location This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard’s India office. Only qualified external applicants will be considered.
