- Alo is looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing Technology to lead the team and platforms that power retention, personalization
- cross-channel customer journeys. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, data
- engineering, owning the strategy, roadmap
- delivery of the marketing technology stack behind Customer 360, lifecycle orchestration, experimentation
- You’ll lead a team of martech engineers and marketing technologists, own the operationalization of customer data through a CDP and reverse ETL tooling into activation platforms such as Braze
- partner with Lifecycle Marketing, CRM, Data Engineering
- Analytics leadership to deliver scalable, measurable retention and personalization programs.
- RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team Leadership & Delivery
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of martech engineers and marketing technologists, setting clear goals, priorities, and development paths
- Own sprint planning, delivery management, and stakeholder communication for the martech roadmap
- Establish engineering standards, documentation practices, and operational runbooks across the team
- Balance hands-on technical guidance with strategic planning; remain close enough to the stack to unblock the team and review designs
- Martech Strategy, Platform & Journey Orchestration
- Own the marketing technology roadmap spanning CDP, reverse ETL, and activation platforms, including vendor evaluation, contract inputs, and platform consolidation decisions
- Oversee the technical integration and data ingestion for retention, lifecycle, and loyalty programs (partnering with Engineering on core loyalty logic)
- Guide the design of cross-channel journeys across messaging channels such as Braze (Email, Push) and related orchestration tools, driving reusable triggers, templates

- Customer 360 & Data Enablement
- Partner with Data Engineering leadership to design and operationalize Customer 360 as the foundation for activation
- Own the strategy for syncing customer profiles, traits, and audiences from data platforms into the CDP and Braze via reverse ETL
- Ensure consistency of identity resolution, consent flags, and audience logic across systems
- Establish and enforce ownership of marketing data definitions and source-of-truth alignment across the organization
- Paid Media & Acquisition Marketing
- Own the martech and data infrastructure powering paid media and acquisition, including ad platform integrations, server-side conversion APIs (CAPI), and first-party audience activation
- Operationalize audience and suppression syncs to paid channels (Meta, Google, TikTok, and similar) from the CDP via reverse ETL to sharpen targeting and reduce wasted spend
- Partner with Acquisition and Growth Marketing leadership to build conversion tracking, attribution, and measurement for new-customer acquisition and paid performance
- Ensure privacy-compliant data sharing with ad platforms (Consent Mode, hashed first-party data), enforcing consent and suppression across paid destinations
- Leverage data collaboration and identity capabilities (e.g., LiveRamp)—identity resolution (RampID), data onboarding, clean rooms, the data marketplace for third-party enrichment, cross-channel activation and addressability

- Experimentation & Measurement
- Champion A/B testing, holdouts, and incrementality measurement for lifecycle and retention programs
- Set tagging and campaign metadata standards to support measurement and future AI-driven performance modeling
- Partner with Analytics leadership to define and report on engagement, retention, conversion, and customer lifetime value outcomes
- Advance measurement capabilities such as marketing mix modeling (MMM) and geo-based incrementality testing (e.g., Haus) to quantify channel and campaign contribution to revenue
- Reliability, Privacy & Governance
- Own operational health of the martech stack: data quality, pipeline reliability, campaign delivery performance, and observability
- Ensure consent enforcement, suppression logic, and governance controls are implemented and audited
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations (CCPA/GDPR), including automated “Right to be Forgotten” workflows that propagate deletions across the CDP and downstream vendors
- Oversee deliverability strategy, including transactional IP pool management and IP warming (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) during platform migrations
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as the primary technology partner to Lifecycle Marketing, CRM, and Retention leadership
- Translate business strategy into a prioritized, executable martech roadmap with clear outcomes and tradeoffs
- Communicate progress, risks, and results to executive stakeholders in clear, outcome-oriented terms
- QUALIFICATIONS
- A people-first leader with a strong ownership and execution mindset, comfortable leading complex, cross-functional initiatives
- 6+ years of experience in Martech, Marketing Operations, CRM, or Data Engineering, including 2+ years managing technical teams or leading large programs
- Strong experience with:
- CDPs and reverse ETL tools (e.g., Hightouch, GrowthLoop)
- Messaging channel platforms such as Braze, Sinch, Attentive, or Airship (Email, Push, SMS)
- Event-driven data architectures
- SQL and cloud data warehouses
- Managing a hybrid stack of activation tools (Email, SMS, Push), including identity resolution and frequency capping across vendors
- Proven experience delivering retention marketing, CRM, and lifecycle programs at scale
- Strong understanding of identity resolution, consent management, and customer data modeling
- Fluent in experimentation and marketing measurement frameworks
- A clear communicator who bridges marketing, engineering, and executive perspectives
- High-volume Retail/eCommerce experience preferred, specifically managing transactional messaging migrations
- Exposure to personalization, recommendations, or decisioning systems
- Experience managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and platform migrations
- Hands-on scripting background (Python or JavaScript)
- The base salary range for this position is $220,000 - $240,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience
- performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy
