Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Engineer to join our team and play a key role in operating, managing, and evolving the platform supporting our Unified Communications products. This role is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about platform reliability, automation, and engineering a world-class product, with a focus on operational excellence at scale.
In this role, you will own the day-to-day health, performance, and lifecycle management of the platform, ensuring high availability and stability across environments. You will design and implement scalable automation frameworks, improve infrastructure workflows, and leverage tools such as Ansible, programming/scripting frameworks, GitHub Actions, and Concourse to enable reliable, repeatable deployments and operational processes.
You will be responsible for managing platform operations, automating routine and complex workflows, improving monitoring and observability, and enabling continuous delivery, while driving initiatives that enhance system resilience, reduce manual effort, and improve overall platform efficiency.
As part of the product engineering function, this role offers the opportunity to build deep and broad understanding of the Unified Communications platform and its underlying products over time, developing strong domain knowledge across system components, workflows, and customer-impacting capabilities.

Comcast voice and unified communications products set the standard in a highly competitive marketplace, and it is through our technology driven approach that we achieve the best customer experience for our products Skillset & Responsibilities Analyze business and technical requirements to design and implement scalable solutions that improve platform efficiency, reliability, and performance, with a strong focus on continuous deployment and operational excellence.
Develop, maintain, and version-control automation frameworks and system documentation to ensure transparency, traceability, and operational readiness. Define and maintain server installation and configuration standards across operating systems, hardware, software, and version levels.
Design, deploy, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Ansible, programming/scripting frameworks, and modern build and deployment tools such as GitHub Actions and Concourse . Drive continuous improvement and quality initiatives across platform operations, identifying opportunities to enhance stability, scalability, and efficiency.
Deploy, maintain, and enhance system and application monitoring to ensure optimal performance, availability, and proactive issue detection. Contribute to team growth by sharing knowledge of tools, technologies, and best practices, and supporting peers in building strong operational and platform engineering capabilities.
Qualifications Experience with deployment and packaging toolsets including Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes , and container-based platforms. Strong experience building automation using Ansible for configuration management and deployment workflows.
Experience with CI/CD and build systems such as GitHub, Concourse, or Jenkins . Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, Shell scripting , or similar
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the architecture, design
- development of applications in line with established product roadmaps Supporting project management and engineering leads to ensure that application development aligns with product requirements Applying established performance models to interactive applications and documenting their network impact Collaborating with product development and operations to clarify and meet technical specifications Crafting use cases to effectively demonstrate the functionality of technical requirements Aiding in the transformation of technical requirements into system architectures under supervision Helping document designs that meet both technical requirements and system architecture Contributing to the evaluation of vendors and providing feedback on technical specifications Working with internal and external software development teams to support the realization of detailed designs Assisting in the validation of test plans and procedures to ensure comprehensive product testing Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
