Job Summary: The DevOps Tools Team supports the Cat Digital and Cat Technology development community by providing Administration and SME responsibilities for the DevOps tools used in Cat Digital.
Assisting is the procurement, registration, installation, and configuration of new development tools. Setting guidelines, auditing, and compliance of supported tools. In this role, the DevOps engineer will support our Autonomy engineering teams in Cat Technology as the build simulation and digital twin environments
What You Will Do
- As a DevOps Engineer in Cat Digital, your mission is to enable effective, efficient, and secure development teams to deliver high-quality, business value to our customers Competent to perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision
- normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work.
- Collaborate closely with several development teams to provide recommendations on DevOps best practices, Cat Digital DevOps standards
- troubleshooting of developer challenges in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Work with developers to create, optimize, and troubleshoot Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Work with developers to create, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
- Collaborate with a DevOps Engineering community to help set standards and implement initiatives across Cat Digital teams.
- Work with developers in the usage of cloud services and assist in troubleshooting solution problems, including IAM, networking and other configuration issues.
- Communicate issues, recommendations, and solutions to developers, product owners, as well as software development managers.

- Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
- Software Product Design/Architecture: Knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into the software product design.
- Software Integration Engineering : Knowledge of software integration processes and functions; ability to design, develop and maintain interfaces and linkage to alternative platforms and software packages.
- Software Product Testing : Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements.
- Consideration for Top Candidates: 8 years or more of software development experience Experience with AWS cloud services (such as IAM, S3, Lambda, SageMaker, API Gateway
- RDS) Deep understanding of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) principals and best practices Strong experience creating, managing
- troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Experience managing and deploying AWS infrastructure via AWS CloudFormation AWS Cloud Practitioner Experience deploying and configuring OSMO, NVIDIA, RUN.AI Additional Details: This position requires the candidate to be based in either Chicago, IL
