Tools and Flows Applications Engineer

The CMA team sits within Arm Solutions Engineering (SE) and develops tools, flows and methodologies deployed across all active SE projects.
The team supports engineers in multiple sites including Canada (Toronto), US (Austin, Chandler and San Diego), UK (Manchester, Sheffield, Cambridge), India (Bangalore), France (Sophia), and Hungary (Budapest)! Responsibilities: As a member of the CMA Applications Engineering team, you will work with others in the team on the deployment, training and support of our internal engineering flows, enabling efficient engineer ramp-up and use across our portfolio of solutions, enabling project teams for execution success.
Working with engineers on Arm projects in conjunction with the CMA Design Methodology & Verification Methodology developers you will help ensure our front-end Design and Verification flows are meeting the expected criteria and are operating as intended.
You will provide training, ramp new teams in Arm and help influence the direction and development of our tools, flows and methodologies through your knowledge of the usage patterns across the teams. You will also work with EDA vendors when teams find issues with EDA tooling and ensure that provided solutions reach resolution.
The flows you will support could include verification flows related to simulation, formal verification, power-aware simulation, gate level simulation, or design tooling such as lint, CDC/RDC, SDC, and how they deliver into back-end flows covering the full implementation life-cycle.
You will also look at the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our project teams to determine where there could be new solutions developed to make the project-based engineering community work more effectively. Required Skills and Experience: Knowledge of Design or Verification flows used in SoC development, with an awareness of other aspects of SoC development Skilled in a scripting language such as python and flows used for version control such as git, gerrit Knowledge of databases and their application to engineering flows Excellent communication skills. “Nice To Have” Skills and Experience: Experience working on global IP and SoC development projects In Return: Arm is a global, diverse organization of dedicated, innovative, and highly capable people.
