Title and Summary Senior Specialist, Payroll Implementation & Integration-2 Position Summary The Senior Specialist, Payroll Implementation & Integration supports strategic payroll initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), P&C Modernization programs, system implementations
- process improvement efforts. This role serves as a key execution resource responsible for coordinating testing activities, validating payroll and employee data, supporting implementation readiness
- assisting with solution deployments across payroll operations. Key Responsibilities M&A Integration Support
- Support payroll workstreams during mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and organizational restructures.
- Assist with payroll integration planning and execution activities.
- Coordinate employee data collection, validation, and migration activities.
- Prepare implementation documentation and integration trackers.
- Support payroll readiness assessments and integration milestones.
- Monitor project tasks, risks, issues, and action items.
- Assist in stabilization activities following acquisitions. P&C Modernization Implementation Support
- Participate in payroll-related activities supporting Workday and P&C Modernization initiatives.
- Support configuration validation and business process testing.
- Work with cross-functional teams to evaluate payroll impacts of system changes.
- Coordinate payroll requirements gathering and documentation.
- Support process redesign and standardization initiatives. Testing & Quality Assurance
- Execute end-to-end payroll testing activities for system implementations and enhancements.
- Develop and assist with unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), parallel payroll testing, regression testing
- Validate payroll calculations and outputs.
- Reconcile testing results and identify variances.
- Document, track, and help resolve defects.
- Verify successful implementation of payroll requirements. Process Improvement & Documentation
- Create and maintain standard test scripts, process documentation, standard operating procedures
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and implementation methodologies.
- Contribute to payroll implementation playbooks and best practices.
- Support operational readiness reviews. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with Payroll Operations, P&C teams, Benefits, Technology teams, Third-party payroll providers
- Participate in project meetings and provide implementation status updates.
- Escalate risks, issues, and testing concerns as necessary.
- Support communication and change management activities. Post-Go-Live Stabilization
- Assist with issue resolution following implementations.
- Monitor payroll processing and implementation outcomes.
- Validate corrective actions and system fixes.
- Transition completed solutions to operational payroll teams. Qualifications
- 3–5 years of payroll, payroll implementation, or payroll operations experience.
- Experience supporting payroll system implementations or upgrades.
- Understanding of payroll processes, controls, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with testing methodologies and issue management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
- Experience supporting M&A integrations.
- Experience with Workday, ADP, or other payroll platforms.
- Experience participating in large-scale HR or payroll transformation programs.
- Knowledge of payroll compliance, tax, benefits, and time management processes.
