Key job responsibilities We are looking for an experienced, results-oriented Software Development Engineer capable of building and operating scalable, reliable software for Amazon's inventory transfer systems. The ideal candidate will work with other engineers and product managers to deliver end-to-end solutions to complex business problems at a scale only available at Amazon. You will own the design, delivery
- operation of significant components of a Tier-1 service, raise the operational and design bar for the team
- help drive improvements to our architecture. Our services are the Tier-1, transactional backbone that executes inventory transfer and crossdocking decisions across Amazon's fulfillment network. When upstream planning systems decide inventory needs to move, we reliably carry out those decisions at scale. We obsess over availability, latency, correctness
- operational excellence, because the network depends on us.
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing
- operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - Experience building and operating high-availability, Tier-1 distributed transactional systems with a strong operational-excellence and on-call track record.
