Key Responsibilities

  • KBR is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Military Operational Planning Subject Matter Expert/Team Lead to join a dynamic, forward-based team in Hawaii.
  • In this role, you will lead the standup and operations of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of planners, analysts
  • technical experts leveraging advanced modeling, simulation
  • analysis (MS&A) tools and techniques to shape and inform Concept Exploration, Course of Action Analysis
  • Operational Planning efforts for the Department of War (DoW), U.S.
  • Pacific Command (USPACOM), and key stakeholders.
  • This team operates in close coordination with a parent organization located in the National Capital Region (NCR).
  • The ideal candidate shall: Lead the establishment, integration, and operational maturation of the KBR team, serving as the primary interface with government stakeholders and the NCR parent organization.
  • Manage team priorities, tasking, staffing, and deliverable quality to ensure mission success and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with USPACOM and Service Component staffs and other key stakeholders while proactively identifying and resolving operational challenges.
  • Apply expert knowledge of the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP) to support concept exploration, operational planning, capability development, and analytical assessments.
  • Bridge traditional operational planning with advanced analytical methodologies to drive innovative approaches to military problem-solving.
  • Leverage your deep understanding of Joint, multi-domain military capabilities, BMC2 concepts, and employment frameworks to evaluate the execution of kill chains and kill webs.
  • Collect, analyze, and curate authoritative military doctrine, planning materials, and capability documents within a collaborative “smart” knowledge management environment.
  • Translate doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures into actionable products to inform model, behavior, and simulation software development.
  • Provide Blue Force expertise during studies, experiments, and analytical assessments.
  • Deliver high-quality, high-impact written, visual, and analytical deliverables that inform senior decision-making.
  • Work Environment: Location: On-site in Hawaii, supporting a mission-critical USPACOM environment Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%, supporting strong work-life balance Working Hours: Standard Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and 16+ years of operational military experience U.S. military Joint Qualified Officer (JQO) designation Experience leading or supervising multidisciplinary operational planning, analytical, or technical teams.
  • Direct experience executing the Joint Operational Planning Process for deliberate planning and developing concepts of operation and courses of action in support of Joint or Service Component Operational Planning efforts Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small, high-performance team environment Strong collaborative skills with experience working in expert-driven, multidisciplinary teams Desired: Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 18+ years of operational military experience Extensive experience planning at a combatant command or service component command Experience supporting analytical studies of military operations Experience with military exercises or wargames 2+ years of experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques and tools Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40hrs Basic Compensation: The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
  • Hawaii Compensation rate is $155,000-$175,000.
  • Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
  • Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
