Top focus
Overview Would you like to spend your days protecting hundreds of millions of people from the most sophisticated cyber threats on the planet? Are you a product visionary with the technical depth to go deep with engineers and the strategic instincts to shape a multi-billion dollar business?
Do you want to lead the product that sits at the absolute core of Microsoft's security portfolio? MDE is the anchor of the Microsoft Defender business, and the product that organizations around the world trust to protect their most critical assets.
This is not a supporting role. This is the role. The one where your decisions shape how enterprises defend themselves against threat actors, ransomware gangs, and the spectrum of modern adversaries. We are looking for a Director of Product Management who will own everything: the strategy, the roadmap, the customer and analyst relationships, and the competitive narrative.
You will set the direction for a product, and you will ensure Defender remains the best endpoint protection solution in the world. This role is based in Redmond, leading a truly global organization with core development hubs in Redmond, Tel Aviv, and Hyderabad.
You will work horizontally across Microsoft at the highest levels, partnering with M365, Windows, Azure, Microsoft AI, and our internal Digital and CISO organizations. Responsibilities Own product strategy & vision — Define and communicate a compelling long-term vision and multi-year strategy for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, ensuring MDE remains the world's best endpoint protection solution and the anchor of the Microsoft Defender business.
Lead and grow a global PM organization — Manage, mentor, and develop a team of product managers across the Redmond, Tel Aviv, and Hyderabad hubs, fostering a high-performance, customer-obsessed culture. Own the roadmap & drive execution — Set and deliver the MDE roadmap end-to-end, partnering closely with engineering, design, research, and threat-intelligence teams to ship high-quality capabilities on time and at global scale.
Lead customer & analyst relationships — Act as a senior product voice with enterprise customers, CISOs, and industry analysts (e.g., Gartner, Forrester), turning their needs and feedback into product direction and strengthening MDE's market leadership.
Own the competitive narrative — Define how MDE wins against the endpoint-security competitive set, shaping positioning, differentiation, and the go-to-market story in partnership with marketing. Drive cross-Microsoft integration — Partner horizontally at the highest levels across M365, Windows, Azure, Microsoft AI, and the internal Digital and CISO organizations, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with Sentinel, Defender XDR, Entra, Purview, and Intune to ensure MDE is a seamlessly integrated part of Microsoft's comprehensive security offering.
Establish metrics & accountability — Set clear OKRs and success measures (growth, adoption, protection efficacy, customer satisfaction), and use data to prioritize investments and report progress to senior leadership. Represent MDE externally — Serve as a credible spokesperson for Microsoft's endpoint-security approach in customer engagements, industry forums, and executive briefings.

Demonstrated product leadership in endpoint security, EDR/XDR, or threat protection (e.g., Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Palo Alto), with deep understanding of the modern threat landscape — ransomware, advanced persistent threats, and the adversary tactics enterprises defend against.
