  • The Director, Direct Procurement BESS will own Redwood's entire product supply chain, including global supply management, supplier industrialization engineering, supplier quality engineering
  • material planning. This role sits at the interface between the product engineering team and the industries that supply our core technologies.
  • This is a build role. With roughly nine months of early groundwork already laid, the ideal candidate will build on that progress to stand up the supply chain for this new high-volume product line, develop close partnerships with key suppliers

  • Responsibilities will include:
  • Partner closely with engineering to understand and project supplier needs before they become blockers.
  • Develop a nuanced understanding of the power electronics, wire harnessing, and mechanical supplier landscape to identify the best partners globally.
  • Build a robust purchasing process end to end, from quotation to supplier qualification to sustained relationship development.
  • Make clear trade-off decisions across cost, volume, quality, and speed as Redwood's business dynamics shift.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to ensure timely delivery of high- quality materials and components.
  • Oversee inventory management, demand planning, and logistics to ensure product availability and minimize lead times.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address supply chain challenges and implement solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to supply chain operations.
  • Build, lead, and structure a high-performing supply chain team for products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
  • Rapidly synthesize findings and communicate them clearly to senior leaders.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to the business

Desired Qualifications

  • Deep procurement and supply chain leadership experience, ideally scaling a new product line from prototype to high volume.
  • Experience in supplier management and operations at manufacturing scale.
  • Hands-on experience developing power electronics supply chains in Asia and North America.
  • Experience building and managing supply chain teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to supply chain operations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically.
  • A degree in engineering, supply chain, or business, or equivalent practical experience.
  • The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
