Senior Medical Affairs Manager - Lung Cancer (m/f/d)
The Senior Medical Affairs Manager – Lung Cancer (m/f/d) is responsible for supporting the development and execution of the Medical Affairs strategy for GSK's Lung Cancer portfolio in Germany. The role will focus on the preparation and execution of upcoming oncology launches while ensuring scientific leadership throughout the product lifecycle.
As a key member of the oncology medical team, the individual will identify and address scientific evidence gaps, generate actionable insights from external stakeholders, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize patient outcomes and successful launch readiness.
The role requires deep expertise in thoracic oncology, strong strategic thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment. Key Responsibilities Medical Strategy and Asset Leadership Support the development and implementation of integrated medical strategies for the Lung Cancer portfolio in Germany.
Contribute to pre-launch, launch, and lifecycle management activities for pipeline and marketed assets. Translate global medical strategies into actionable local plans aligned with the German healthcare environment. Ensure consideration of local patient needs, scientific evidence gaps, treatment pathways, and access requirements.
Launch Readiness Lead and coordinate medical launch readiness activities for upcoming Lung Cancer assets. Develop medical launch plans in collaboration with Commercial, Market Access, Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Value & Evidence teams.
Drive scientific differentiation and disease area leadership before and during launch phases. Support evidence generation strategies required to strengthen value propositions and market adoption. Contribute to AMNOG-relevant medical activities and evidence planning.
Scientific Engagement and External Partnerships Establish and maintain scientifically credible relationships with key external experts, academic centers, study groups, and professional societies. Organize and lead advisory boards, scientific exchange meetings, and expert consultation activities.
Gather and translate medical insights into actionable recommendations for local and global stakeholders. Represent GSK at national and international congresses and scientific meetings. Evidence Generation and Medical Education Identify evidence gaps and support development of real-world evidence, investigator-sponsored research, and collaborative research initiatives.
Contribute to publication strategies and medical communication plans. Lead development and review of scientific materials and educational content. Support internal medical training related to Lung Cancer disease areas and assets. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the medical representative within cross-functional brand and launch teams.
Partner closely with Field Medical, Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, and Global Medical teams. Provide medical input into strategic planning and business reviews. Contribute scientific expertise to patient-centric initiatives and healthcare system partnerships.
Review of commercial Materials to ensure in-label content Compliance and Governance Ensure all activities comply with GSK policies, local regulations, EFPIA/FSA requirements, and applicable healthcare compliance standards. Support medical review and approval processes for scientific and educational materials.
Maintain high standards of scientific integrity and patient focus in all interactions. Requirements Education Advanced degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related discipline. PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent scientific qualification preferred.
Professional Experience Significant experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Strong expertise in Oncology is required. Demonstrated experience in Lung Cancer / Thoracic Oncology is mandatory. Experience supporting or leading oncology launches in Germany.
Understanding of the German healthcare system, reimbursement landscape, and AMNOG processes. Experience in scientific engagement with key opinion leaders and academic research networks. Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration in a matrix organization.
Technical Knowledge Deep understanding of Lung Cancer treatment paradigms and evolving standards of care. Knowledge of clinical development, evidence generation, and publication planning. Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements governing scientific engagement.
Leadership Expectations (Individual Contributor) Demonstrates scientific leadership and strategic thinking. Influences without formal authority across functions and stakeholders. Drives execution and accountability in complex cross-functional projects.

These ranges take into account a number of factors including the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position may offer an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role.
