Manage the US GAAP financial reporting for Health and Welfare Benefits and Retirement results with responsibility for spend of over $300 million. Manage AutoNation’s defined contribution 401(k), non-qualified Deferred Compensation, Emergency Savings, and Health Saving Plans with assets approximating $1.4 billion.

Monitor Plans’ investment strategy and ensure regulatory and Plans’ compliance. Job Responsibilities 1. Develop department budgets for over $300 million in annual spend, manage monthly and quarterly financial reporting of department results for presentation to CHRO and CFO, and monitor SOX controls through supervision of financial analyst and collaboration with corporate accounting and consulting actuaries. 2.

Analyze trends and results in financial dashboards, supervise account reconciliations, and review journal entry preparation for all Benefits and Retirement department monthly activity. 3. Oversight of Retirement Plan assets of approximately $1.4 billion.

Manage retirement plan administration in accordance with Plan documents, prospectuses, and regulatory standards (e.g., DOL, ERISA, and IRS), directing third-party administrators and other consultants. 4. Monitor compliance with Plans’ investment, governance, and cybersecurity policies and present quarterly to the Employee Benefits Committee (EBC).

Review annual report for Board of Directors. 5. Coordinate the vendor’s preparation of 401(k) and Health and Welfare Form 5500s. Supervise 401(k) Plan annual audit and preparation of the 401(k) financial statements for presentation to the Chief Accounting Officer and EBC. 6.

Design, implement, and communicate innovative programs to promote employee financial wellness and awareness of the Retirement Plans’ value. 7. Remain current on developing trends, strategies, and regulatory considerations to ensure Retirement Plans remain competitive and compliant with IRS, DOL and ERISA regulations.

Serve as a subject matter expert to keep Retirement Plans’ documents and process manuals current. 8. Assist with request for proposals for vendors and manage implementations. 9. Manage the third-party administrator of relocations and coordinate with Corporate and Region leadership to supervise their transfers. 10.

Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Values and Behaviors in all interactions with employees, co-workers and vendors and adhere to all Company policies and procedures. Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance or data science. 2.

Strong critical and analytical thinking skills. 3. Experience integrating AI tools into business processes. 4. Self-motivated, independent, and creative performer who enjoys managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 5. Five years’ progressive experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, or data science roles. 6.

Subject matter experience in the retirement industry preferred. 7. Demonstrated success in the management and coordination of third-party administrators, record-keepers, consultants, and advisors. 8. Ability to supervise and support the career growth of team members. 9.

Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills, including excellent presentation skills. 10. Advanced MS Office and advanced MS Excel experience; Tableau or Power BI experience, preferred. 11. Experience with Workday, and top tier 401(k) record-keeping services preferred.
