Position Summary The Reliability and Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems within a highly regulated medical industry environment. This role combines hands-on maintenance expertise with a proactive approach to equipment reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while maintaining detailed maintenance and compliance documentation in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements. This individual will play a key role in minimizing equipment downtime, improving asset performance, and supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic equipment issues Conduct equipment inspections and condition monitoring activities to identify potential failures before they impact production Support reliability initiatives by participating in root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurring failures Complete maintenance work orders and maintain accurate, detailed maintenance and compliance documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with quality systems, standard operating procedures, and documentation requirements Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.

Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, and validation activities as required. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recommend solutions to enhance equipment uptime, safety, and efficiency. Adhere to all Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities as required. Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide timely troubleshooting and resolution. Required Qualifications & Experience Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.

Experience performing maintenance within a manufacturing, industrial, processing, medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated environment. Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems. Experience working with maintenance management systems and completing detailed maintenance records and documentation.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and procedures. Demonstrated ability to work within a structured quality and compliance framework. Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements and safe work practices.

Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently with minimal supervision. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Growth mindset with a willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing technologies and processes.

Preferred Qualifications Experience within the medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS), GMP, ISO standards, or similar compliance frameworks.

Experience supporting reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), predictive maintenance, or continuous improvement initiatives. Familiarity with PCs, computer hardware, electronics, and automated equipment systems. Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems.

Disconnect/Reconnect Electrical License (desirable).
