Job Title: Contract Specialst Travel: None * * * The Opportunity: Join a mission focused team supporting the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as part of a collaborative group of contracting and procurement professionals.
In this role, you will contribute to agency wide acquisition initiatives that directly enable NASA’s programs and strategic goals. As a Contract Specialist, you will support a wide range of acquisition related issues, challenges, and opportunities.
Working under general supervision, you will partner with acquisition team members and NASA officials to help advance key agency objectives—ensuring full alignment with applicable federal regulations, agency policies, and national acquisition priorities Responsibilities
In This Role, You Will
- Assist the CO in conducting strategic requirements review, acquisition strategy development, Request for Proposal development, and in performing other related procurement tasks as required.
- Assist the CO in review of requirements documents submitted by the Program Office to determine adequacy and sufficiency and make recommendations to the CO to accept or reject.
- Participate in meetings as required.
- Meetings include pre-award conferences, periodic progress review meetings, acquisition planning meetings, and other meetings as required by the CO.
- Assist the CO in preparing solicitations, acquisition plans, source selection plans, and other documents required in accordance with regulatory and local guidance.
- Documents shall be accurate, current, and maintained up to date (for example, Acquisition Plan milestone schedule); Responsible for preparing bids and negotiating specifications and contractual provisions.
- Support the Contracting Officer in assisting customers with the development and preparation of requirements documents (e.g., PWS, technical evaluation factors, performance plans, etc.).
- Provide support for the preparation of contractual provisions and the administration of contract proposals.
- Complete and handle all contract files in accordance with acquisition regulations and NASA local policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Required: A minimum of four (4) years of experience in procurement, policy analysis, contracting, or related disciplines.
- A bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience using government contract writing software tools.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to successfully complete all client‑mandated background checks, suitability determinations, and onboarding screenings as required for access to government systems and facilities.
- Desired: Experience with the NASA FAR Supplement (NFS).
- Experience using SAP, FPDS-NG, Procurement for Public Sector. #LI-TF1 - What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.

- Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
