Introduction to role: Are you ready to lead a full P&L and turn financial insight into decisions that accelerate growth and improve patient impact across Canada? In this role, you will be the financial leader for an assigned Therapeutic Area, partnering closely with commercial and functional leaders to develop strategy, guide investments, and deliver outcomes that matter.

Do you thrive on translating strategy into numbers that drive action? Accountabilities: Full P&L Ownership: Lead the end-to-end P&L for the assigned Therapeutic Area, ensuring revenue and expense accuracy, gross-to-net integrity, and profitability; drive actions to deliver targets.
Business Partnering and Decision Support: Translate brand and functional strategies into financial implications and actionable recommendations; serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. Financial Planning and Budgeting: Lead the annual budget and in-year updates with sound assumptions, documented drivers, and timely submissions aligned to governance.
Month-End Close and Performance Reporting: Run month-end activities and produce clear, driver-based variance commentary across the full P&L. Cost Excellence and Resource Allocation: Challenge spending plans, identify efficiencies, and reallocate to high-impact initiatives while maintaining strong compliance and controls.
Commercial Analytics: Assess price/volume/mix, gross-to-net impacts, investment returns, and brand/competitor dynamics to advise portfolio choices. Risk and Opportunity Management: Proactively surface risks and opportunities, quantify P&L impacts, and support mitigation or bring together plans with clear owners and timelines.
Business Case Support: Build and review reasons for major initiatives, articulating benefits, costs, trade-offs, P&L impact, and post-implementation tracking. Stakeholder Engagement: Foster financial literacy and effective decision forums; communicate succinctly with executive leaders and cross-functional teams.
Operational Improvement: Partner with the Finance Director to standardize processes, strengthen data integrity, and streamline reporting cycles and controls. Essential Skills/Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant Business subject area.
Experience: 8+ years progressive experience in finance and/or accounting with a minimum of 3 years in a CPG/Pharmaceutical environment (or equivalent). Stakeholder Management: Extensive experience fostering and maintaining internal stakeholder relationships and management; credibility at senior executive levels.
Cross Functional Engagement: Ability to engage crossfunctional working groups and teams. Planning & Execution: Strong planning and systematic thinking, including project management and budgeting; independent problem solver able to resolve conflict and sophisticated problems.
Communication & Influence: Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing abilities; excellent written English and enhanced presentation skills. Desirable Skills/Experience: Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Canadian biopharmaceutical or related industry.
Systems: Prior exposure to SAP or similar ERPs. Strong curiosity about data automation and visualization (eg. PowerBI) Qualifications: CPA, CA, CMA, and/or MBA is preferred. Experience in auditing positions in an audit or finance consultancy company.
