Job Summary This job involves designing and customizing new software applications to enhance functionality and user experience. It includes managing software updates and releases, and working with stakeholders to develop solutions that meet business needs.
It mentors junior staff, manages technical documentation, and uses performance metrics to improve software reliability. Collaboration with Quality Assurance ensures compliance with technical specifications. The role also requires management of documentation, analysis of market trends, and participating/leading in collaborative development sessions.
Job Description Key Responsibilities Conduct penetration testing (Web, Network, API, Mobile) to identify vulnerabilities Perform vulnerability assessments on systems, applications, and infrastructure Simulate cyberattacks using manual and automated techniques Identify, exploit, and document security weaknesses Prepare detailed security reports with risk ratings and remediation steps Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to address findings Perform red teaming exercises and security audits where required Develop scripts/tools for automated testing Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and attack techniques Ensure testing aligns with OWASP, NIST, and compliance frameworks Penetration testers typically simulate attacks, identify weaknesses, and recommend security improvements to strengthen defenses Required Skills Strong knowledge of: Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS) Operating Systems (Linux, Windows) Web application architecture Experience with tools such as: Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Wireshark, OWASP ZAP Understanding of: OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities Authentication and access control mechanisms Scripting knowledge: Python / Bash / PowerShell Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent report writing and communication skills Disclaimer: This information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this role.
