Responsibilities

  • The Senior Logistics and Sustainment Specialist will oversee the efficient movement, storage
  • distribution of goods by coordinating transportation activities, maintaining accurate inventory levels, analyzing key performance data
  • ensuring all documentation and regulatory requirements are met.
  • They will work closely with carriers, suppliers
  • cross functional teams to resolve shipment issues, optimize logistics processes
  • support continuous improvement initiatives while leveraging systems such as WMS, TMS
  • ERP platforms to enhance operational accuracy and speed.
  • This role requires strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high volume workflows in a fast paced environment while upholding safety, compliance, and customer service standards

Qualifications

  • Required Logistics Coordination — Deep experience managing daily transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure smooth product flow.
  • Inventory Control Expertise — Strong ability to monitor stock levels, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain high inventory accuracy.
  • Data & KPI Analysis — Skilled in interpreting logistics metrics (OTIF, fill rate, dwell time, cost per unit) and using data to drive improvements.
  • Transportation Management — Knowledge of routing, freight optimization, carrier selection, and shipment tracking across modes (LTL, FTL, air, ocean).
  • Systems Proficiency — Hands-on experience with WMS, TMS, ERP systems, barcode/RFID tools, and logistics reporting platforms.
  • Problem Solving — Ability to troubleshoot delays, shortages, damages, and process bottlenecks quickly and effectively.
  • Regulatory Knowledge — Understanding of DOT rules, OSHA standards, customs documentation, import/export compliance, and hazmat handling.
  • Vendor & Carrier Coordination — Experience communicating with carriers, 3PLs, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain service levels.
  • Process Improvement — Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma concepts to streamline workflows and reduce waste.
  • Customer Service Orientation — Ensures logistics performance supports customer expectations, service levels, and timely delivery.
  • Documentation Accuracy — Strong attention to detail in preparing BOLs, customs forms, packing lists, and shipment records.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Works effectively with procurement, planning, production, and sales to align logistics activities with business needs.
  • Safety & Compliance Focus — Maintains a safety-first mindset and ensures adherence to workplace and transportation safety protocols.
  • TS/SCI w/Poly Desired Defense, intelligence, and/or federal project experience is highly desirable. - What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.
