Senior Engineer, Application Development & Maintenance (Technical Lead) What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services.
This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value. Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices.
This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.
As part of PD WMS IT team, this member supports all activities related to Warehouse Technology solutions: Manhattan Integration Framework and Manhattan Active WM, Manhattan WMOS2019 Mobile Application integrations (PDP/PDR/RTV) and other applications connecting end to end order flow and warehouse operations Responsibilities Lead end‑to‑end design and development of WMS technical solutions and guiding teams through delivery, integration, and operational readiness Understand business requirements and work with partners to achieve scalable technical solutions within Manhattan WMS Provide technical guidance and lead medium to high effort enhancement/build projects.
Collaborate with software platforms such as: SAP, FedEx and rfXCL and act as a technical SME/liaison by understanding the application architecture, schema and existing or future interfaces, application enhancements and projects Manage priorities between the projects, meet project aligned expectations on scope, quality, schedule, and budget of project Create technical design specifications for Proactive Development and Integration Requirements (interface Specifications) and create resource and timeline estimates Act as technical lead/mentor on team to provide skill uplift to junior team members.
Provide HyperCare support and lead technical build to run transition and create lessons learned documentation for the projects implemented. Qualifications 10 plus years of experience with Warehouse Management Systems with at least 6 years in Manhattan WMS (Manhattan Active, SCPP/WMOS, etc.) which includes Technical and Lead experience with Manhattan Active Implementations BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field Experience with modeling, designing and configuring processes within Manhattan Active across Inbound, Outbound and Inventory Management processes Deep technical experience with Manhattan Proactive Development Experience in designing, building and maintaining REST service integrations between Manhattan Active and external applications Experience with implementing Manhattan Active integrations using MIF Active as an integration platform Experience designing, building and enhancing labels and documents using Mark Magic and Jasper Ability to identify and perform corrective actions for data within Manhattan using Manhattan APIs Working knowledge of SAP integration approaches for Manhattan Active, with a focus on MIF Active integrations Experience implementing regulatory controls, constraints and compliant integrations within Manhattan for processes governed by FDA, DEA and DSCSA compliance frameworks Strong communication and documentation skills to be able to work with and across stakeholder groups and organizational levels What is expected of you and others at this level Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope Projects may have significant and long-term impact Provides solutions which may set precedent Independently determines method for completion of new projects Receives guidance on overall project objectives Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues Candidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.
