- We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to own Indirect Sourcing: Engineering Development Services & Specialty Prototype category. This role manages the supplier ecosystem that supports Amazon Robotics' hardware development pipeline — including engineering services contractors (mechanical, electrical, electromechanical, and software), specialty prototype fabrication (CNC machining, additive manufacturing, sheet metal), quick-turn PCB fabrication and assembly, functional test development, and contract design houses. This role also represents a critical step in bringing procurement oversight to indirect services spend across Amazon Robotics — covering Outside Services, Engineering Services, and Electrical/Mechanical Services categories spanning a wide range of suppliers. You will define the sourcing strategy for these categories where none exists today, driving competitive RFP/RFQ processes, supplier segmentation, contract negotiations, and cost reduction opportunity. You will develop category strategies, negotiate agreements, manage supplier performance, and partner directly with hardware engineering teams to ensure fast, high-quality, and cost-effective execution of development builds, prototype runs, and engineering consulting engagements. Key job responsibilities - Category Strategy: Define and execute sourcing strategies for engineering development services and specialty prototype — including engineering contractors, quick-turn PCB fab/assembly, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and contract design services. Build strategies where none exist today. - Supplier Management: Own supplier relationships end-to-end — selection, qualification, performance scorecards, segmentation, capacity planning, and business reviews. Build a segmented supplier base that balances speed, quality, cost, and capability. - NPI & Engineering Partnership: Serve as the primary sourcing interface for hardware engineering during development phases — ensuring prototype builds are executed on time, on budget, and with appropriate supplier capability matching. - Cost & Agreements: Negotiate pricing frameworks, MSAs, blanket POs, and volume discount structures. Drive cost reduction through competitive RFP/RFQ processes, spend consolidation, and supplier rationalization. - Speed & Responsiveness: Develop mechanisms to reduce prototype lead times — pre-qualified supplier panels, expedite frameworks, and rapid-quote processes that enable engineering agility. - Supplier Development: Identify and qualify new suppliers for emerging prototype technologies (advanced additive, flex/rigid-flex PCB, high-density interconnect, specialty coatings/finishes). - Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with internal engineering, R&D, and program stakeholders
