Position Summary The Senior Manager role on the Health Plan Adherence Solutions team under the Retail Pharmacy Growth organization will be part of a cross-functional group focused on shaping the medication adherence strategy for CVS Retail and developing adherence solutions that can be packaged for health plans and other clients while driving revenue for Retail Pharmacy.
This role will lead strategic opportunity sourcing, prioritization, business case development, roadmap orchestration, testing and incubation, competitive landscape analysis, results tracking, and P&L management for adherence capabilities. Specifically, the Senior Manager will be responsible for refining the strategy for health plan medication adherence at CVS Pharmacy, sourcing and shaping new product and program ideas, creating business cases to assess value and feasibility, and orchestrating the short-, medium-, and long-term horizons of the medication adherence roadmap.
The role will also lead others through the incubation and testing of prioritized adherence solutions and manage governance with internal partners. The day-to-day experience of the role will vary from leading intake and prioritization discussions for new adherence ideas, building and pressure-testing business cases, orchestrating roadmap tradeoffs across near-term execution and longer-term strategic bets, updating leadership on test-and-learn programs, and leading meetings with internal partners to understand health plan or pharma needs.
The Senior Manager is expected to effectively communicate their work and provide clear, data-informed recommendations based on their findings. This position requires demonstrated, strong independent leadership skills to set strategic direction, lead a team through opportunity development and incubation, and bring structure to a portfolio of adherence initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work cross functionally, influence a wide range of stakeholders, and drive alignment across competing priorities. In addition, the individual must demonstrate a consistent track record of delivering results while balancing short-term execution with medium- and long-term roadmap development.
Finally, an ideal candidate would be able to apply their deep knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare to their work—particularly focused on medication adherence. Required Qualifications 5 years of professional experience in healthcare, pharmacy, strategy, consulting, or related fields 2 years of people management experience, including leading cross-functional teams and direct reports Preferred Qualifications Strategic consulting experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or payer/provider environments, with a focus on product development, operational improvement, or market strategy Proven ability to develop and execute strategic roadmaps, including opportunity identification, prioritization frameworks, and go-to-market planning Experience leading cross-functional strategy engagements, managing stakeholders across business units, and driving alignment on complex initiatives Demonstrated success in managing and developing high-performing teams, including setting strategic direction, coaching, and performance management Strong background in business case development, including financial modeling, scenario planning, and assumption-based forecasting Ability to translate insights into actionable strategies, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision-making Experience conducting market scans, competitive analyses, and customer discovery to guide product innovation and positioning Deep understanding of healthcare delivery models, pharmacy operations, and payer dynamics, especially as they relate to medication adherence and Stars ratings Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of diagnosing root causes and recommending practical, scalable solutions Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership Ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously, balancing short-term execution with long-term vision Collaborative mindset with experience working in matrixed organizations or consulting-style environments, where influence and relationship-building are key Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and other analytical tools to support strategy development and performance tracking Education Required: Bachelors Preferred: MBA Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $75,400.00 - $199,144.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
