maintain scalable, high-performance distributed systems that power AWS Network Firewall's traffic inspection and filtering capabilities - Write clean, efficient
well-tested code in languages such as Java, Python
C++ to deliver features that protect customer networks at cloud scale - Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, architect solutions
drive implementation of new firewall features - Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across distributed systems, contributing to operational excellence through on-call rotations and root cause analysis - Participate in code reviews, design discussions
documentation efforts to uphold engineering best practices and raise the bar for team quality - Contribute to the full software development lifecycle—from design and implementation through testing, deployment
monitoring in a CI/CD environment - Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, performance
security while reducing operational burden through automation and tooling
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing
