Senior Shipping Associate, Transportation
What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc.
Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:30pm (overtime per business needs) Responsibilities Communicating with internal and external stakeholders Building relationships with our commercial carrier partners Ensure carriers follow guidelines in day-to-day operations based on Cardinal Health's policies and procedures Freight monitoring and KPI reporting Expediting urgent shipping requests Handle customer complaints, investigate delivery issues and report outcome to internal Customer Service Group Provide guidance or technical assistance to organizational projects Willingness to train and be certified to drive material handling equipment as requires by job duty.
Example equipment in the facility includes order picker (cherry picker), forklift, reach truck, turret truck, pallet jack, and walkie rider. Qualifications 2-4 years of experience in shipping, preferred High School Diploma or GED, preferred Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Knowledge of warehouse management systems Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift Problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, adaptable to change and able to reprioritize on short-notice What is expected of you and others at this level Applies knowledge and company policies to complete a variety of tasks Demonstrates a working knowledge of jobs outside area of responsibility Maintains appropriate licenses, training and certifications Works on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues May assist in recommendation of processes on new assignments Adheres to all quality guidelines Works with limited supervision Work occasionally involves review of output by work lead or supervisor May provide general guidance or technical assistance to less experienced team members Pay rate: $23.50 per hour (will include shift differential) Bonus eligible: No Benefits: Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.
