Regular or Temporary: Regular Language Fluency: English (Required) Work Shift: 1st shift (United States of America) Please review the following job description: We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to serve as a subject-matter expert (SME) for the LoanIQ platform within our Capital Markets Technology organization.
This is a hands-on engineering role that pairs deep technical delivery with strong domain expertise across the loan lifecycle — from origination and syndication through servicing, sales, trading, and settlement. The successful candidate will own critical components of the LoanIQ ecosystem, partner directly with front-office, middle-office, and operations stakeholders, and set the technical standard for the team as a senior technical authority. ________________________________________ Drives the architecture and delivery of high impact software solutions within the job area.
Applies software engineering and architectural practices, along with emerging technologies, to design innovative, scalable solutions. Leads large or complex projects, providing crossteam guidance, coaching, and training that support business objectives and strengthen overall technical capability.
Additional job details: Act as the technical SME for the LoanIQ application, owning design, development, configuration, and support across the platform and its integrations. Design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient solutions supporting loan syndication, loan sales and trading, agency/servicing, and related capital markets workflows.
Translate business requirements from trading desks, syndications, operations, and finance into robust technical solutions. Lead the analysis and resolution of complex production issues, including trade booking, position keeping, cash flow processing, and settlement breaks.
Develop and maintain integrations between LoanIQ and upstream/downstream systems (trade capture, settlement, accounting/GL, market data, reporting, and reconciliation platforms). Drive code quality through design reviews, code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to SDLC and change-management controls.
Partner with vendors (e.g., Finastra) on platform upgrades, patches, and roadmap alignment. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the team. Ensure solutions meet regulatory, audit, security, and data-governance requirements applicable to capital markets systems.
REQUIRES: MINIMUM 5 YEARS OF CAPITAL MARKETS EXPERIENCE WITH DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE OF TRADING FLOWS SUCH AS LOAN SYNDICATION, LOAN SALES AND TRADING, OR SIMILAR CAPITAL MARKETS PRODUCTS ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job.

Independently troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues in the area of responsibility, designing innovative architectures and performance, reliability, and scalability improvements that advance business objectives. 6.
Provides ongoing technical guidance, coaching, and training to other engineers, delegating and reviewing work from lower-level technical professionals and raising the technical bar through design reviews and knowledge sharing. 7. Evaluates emerging technologies and techniques relevant to the job area, building prototypes and solution concepts that contribute measurable input into new features, products, or capabilities. 8.
Contributes to the development of long-term technical goals and plans for the area of responsibility through well-reasoned recommendations, design proposals, and implementation experience. 9. Leads large or complex initiatives within the job area, coordinating and delegating technical work that may span outside the immediate team, and ensuring cohesive, high-quality outcomes with limited supervision.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. 2. Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development. 3. Deep knowledge of multiple programming languages, software architecture, and design principles. 4.
Deep understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, deployment, and security practices. Preferred Qualifications 1. Advanced degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline. 2. Professional certifications such as Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or equivalent. 3.
Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, container orchestration, and DevOps. 4. Strong familiarity with Agile frameworks, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and enterprise innovation management. The annual base salary for this position is $155,300-$170,800 General Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of Truist Financial Corporation: All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position.
