The Data Governance Foundation Sr Analyst is responsible for contributing to the development of new techniques and improvement of processes and workflow. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business.
Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information.
Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams.
Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization
Responsibilities
- Consult with end users to support defining, and/or integrating processes to align with the enterprise Data Governance roadmap and/or Data Risk and Control framework and taxonomy Provide technical knowledge to ensure efficient design, development
- implementation of complex projects Review and evaluate work of others Leads system change process from requirements through implementation Applies good understanding of concepts and procedures within own business analysis area to resolve issues Monitor and report governance metrics including Data Governance adoption and maturity Monitor alignment of processes across business, functions and lines of business to the Enterprise Data Governance Policy and standards to meet its specific requirements Contribute to producing recommendations for enterprise-wide guiding policies, standards and procedures The Data Governance Foundation Sr.
- Analyst would be responsible for supporting the below responsibilities: Data Quality Performance Monitoring & Exception Management Reporting: The Sr.
- Analyst will lead reporting of critical metrics derived directly from Data Quality rule results across various data domains.
- A key aspect involves proactively identifying and resolving misaligned rules between disparate systems to uphold data consistency and integrity.
- Furthermore, this role is accountable for leading the deployment of regular reports that communicate progress against key milestones, ensuring transparency and alignment with stakeholders through periodic reviews.
- Analyst will support Exception Management Control evidencing aligned with policies and risk management guidelines across Citi.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Cross-functional Engagement: This function leads and facilitates engagement with Data Managers through weekly domain forums, providing expert guidance and technical advice.
- It specifically supports Data Stewards and rule implementation teams on the appropriate methodologies for adding or adjusting Data Quality rules.
- Additionally, dedicated support is extended to the Services domain team by weekly reporting on the status of Exception Management Metrics, Data Quality rule reviews, approvals
- implementation progress for relevant domains, thereby facilitating timely decision-making and project advancement.
- Data Quality Requirements Management : Managing the comprehensive review process for Data Quality requirements across all Use Cases specifically assigned to the Services domain.
- The primary goal is to ensure that requirements are precisely defined, accurately aligned with their respective products, and in full compliance with established central policies and procedural guidelines.
- This review process also actively involves proposing enhancements, additions
- rejections of Data Quality rules
- are subsequently presented to Services Data Managers for formal approval and to Data Consumers for alignment.
- Cross-System Data Rule Reconciliation : Conducting thorough and systematic reconciliation of Data Quality rules across multiple systems
- include, but are not limited to, the Data Catalog, Vanguard, Eagle
- The overarching objective is to meticulously verify that all required rules are present, accurately registered, and properly maintained within the designated and approved tools, ensuring operational integrity.
- Strategic Program Enablement: This responsibility entails actively supporting strategic priorities within both the Exception Management and Data Concern programs.
- This involves the critical task of collating and tracking key initiatives across Operational Execution
- includes providing Control highlights, incorporating Regulatory updates
- monitoring overall Initiative progress to ensure strategic alignment and execution.
- Operational Framework Development: This role provides crucial support for the foundational development of the Exception Management/Data Quality Rule implementation Operating Model, Process Flow documentation
- RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) matrices.
- These critical documents are instrumental in facilitating effective interaction across various teams and ensuring clear accountability for all involved parties.
- Data Quality and Exception Management Program Management : This role involves the development and deployment of Exception Management and Data Quality newsletters & key program management resources to ensure stakeholders are updated on progress.
- These communications are strategically designed to inform key stakeholders about the ongoing progress on Data Quality priorities and to effectively highlight the tangible impact of each initiative.
- The ideal candidate will ensure executive summaries are meticulously prepared
- essential resources are collated for comprehensive Domain reporting, Data Quality Initiative updates
- broader strategic communications across Operational Execution, specifically covering areas such as Exception Management and Data Concerns
Qualifications
- 5-8 years relevant experience in a Data Governance, Data Management or related area Strong project management skills Optimizes work processes by knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
- monitoring tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes Ability to communicate effectively Proficient in the use of basic Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 5 Years of Experience in Financial Services or related field.
- Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels.
- Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels.
- Optimizes work processes by balancing effective / efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the “big picture” while paying close attention to detail.
- Organizational savvy: understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret them.
- Working knowledge of Data Operating Model practices, Data Governance and Data Compliance within large, financial services firms.
