Job Description The Manager, Global Medical Affairs Oncology is a hybrid role that combines medical affairs project management with disease area expertise to help advance Gilead's oncology portfolio. This individual will drive operational excellence and contribute to scientific strategy across assigned programs, ensuring the seamless execution of key initiatives.
The role oversees budget management, project leadership, and cross-functional coordination, partnering closely with Development and Commercial teams. The Manager will help shape global scientific messages and medical content, track key milestones across disease areas, and support publication planning, evidence generation, advisory boards, and investigator meetings.
This is a cross-functional role ideal for candidate with a strong interest in oncology, medical activities, and strategic execution in a fast-paced, global environment. Job Responsibilities: Manages Global Medical Affairs budgets for assigned activities, including tracking, forecasting, and contributing to financial planning and estimates Leads projects to completion, proactively identifying risks, resolving challenges, and ensuring delivery against timelines in a collaborative manner Supports oncology programs by tracking key milestones and deliverables across disease areas to ensure timely execution· Collaborates cross-functionally with project management, R&D, medical communications, and commercial teams to support publication planning, evidence generation plans, data gap analyses, speaker education programs, and reviews of scientific materials (manuscripts, abstracts, and conference presentations), as well as advisory boards and investigator meetings Maintains regular communication with the Gilead Medical Scientist (MS) team to gather field insights, inform global medical strategies, and provide medical education and direction Contributes to shape global scientific messages, strategic documents, and medical content slides to ensure alignment with overall medical strategy Collaborates in the development and review of global medical materials to ensure scientific accuracy, balance, and consistency Contributes with Global Medical Affairs teams to develop and execute strategic global medical training initiatives aligned with key scientific and business priorities Supports with the development and execution of projects that will provide more extensive background, additional data/answers to questions in response to issues related to commercial, scientific, or data needs Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute a global Plan of Action and drive alignment across team activities May attends major scientific congresses coordinating medical engagement activities and scientific presentations as appropriate Basic qualifications: 6+ Years with bachelor’s degree 4+ Years with master’s degree Preferred qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a scientific or clinical qualification (BSc, PhD, or PharmD) and a strong interest in oncology, patient-centric care, and medical education Prior global or large affiliate experience in medical affairs activities preferred Industry experience with knowledge of all applicable regulatory and legal requirements for Medical Affairs activities is preferred Excellent written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, relationship-building, and negotiating skills Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and understand complex issues and extract key insights from study data and publications Experience in developing abstracts, manuscripts, posters, and slide presentations, and presenting at scientific meetings Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet timelines in a fast-paced environment Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize workload Ability to work independently with a high level of autonomy Committed to continuing education to maintain knowledge base Ability to travel to domestic and international conferences, including occasional weekend travel (25% expected) People Leader Accountabilities: Create Inclusion - knowing the business value of diverse teams, modeling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams.

The salary range for this position is: $146,540.00 - $189,640.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
