About The Team

We are a small cross-functional product team with a broad range of responsibilities and duties. We collaborate with product managers, UX and other development teams globally across Resmed. We’re passionate about solving problems across the entire software development lifecycle – whether that’s investigating new technologies, frameworks and cloud services, developing new features, improving our CI/CD pipelines and test automation, finding new ways of leveraging AI or figuring out how to better automate our release process.

We own features from development all the way through to production. We’re always up for a challenge and love learning new things! What We Are Looking For: We’re looking for a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer (L5) who can lead complex initiatives end-to-end across frontend, backend, and platform/infrastructure domains.

This role is for an engineer who combines strong hands-on delivery with technical leadership, and who can set direction for architecture, quality, and engineering practices while partnering with product, UX, and peer engineering teams. You should be comfortable working with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot in your day-to-day work and helping others use them effectively.

You will operate autonomously, mentor engineers, drive high standards, and influence technical decisions across teams. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams across time zones (primarily Sydney, Australia). Some of the tasks you’ll be performing include: Leading the design and delivery of large, ambiguous feature initiatives across multiple services and micro-frontends (our application uses a React-based micro-frontend architecture) Defining and evolving architecture for microservices and micro-frontends, including trade-off analysis, long-term maintainability, and operational excellence Driving cross-team technical alignment, influencing roadmap and sequencing decisions, and breaking down initiatives into clear execution plans Partnering with others to design, implement, and continuously improve Kubernetes infrastructure and service reliability Raising the quality bar by advancing automated unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing strategy and tooling Leading security, performance, observability, and resilience improvements across services Mentoring engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching; promoting strong engineering practices across the team Supporting production systems as needed, including incident response, root-cause analysis, and prevention-focused follow-up actions Required Skills and Experience: 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial experience shipping and operating production systems at scale Strong production experience with an object-oriented language (Java preferred) Strong production experience with a web application framework (React preferred) Demonstrated ability to lead technical design for complex, distributed systems and drive implementation across multiple contributors Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while upholding strong engineering standards Experience designing and implementing automated unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end tests Experience partnering with product and cross-functional stakeholders to shape scope, delivery plans, and technical outcomes Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to varied audiences Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a bias toward measurable outcomes Experience working with task management tools such as Jira Experience working with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog Experience coding with AI tools and applying them effectively in day-to-day development workflows Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent Desirable Skills and Experience : Languages: Java,Typescript Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) experience Frameworks: Spring Boot, React Version control system: Github Testing: Jest, Playwright, JUnit Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases CI/CD and automation tools and infrastructure: Github Actions Strong experience with microservice and micro-frontend architectures Experience improving team-level engineering practices (design reviews, operational readiness, quality strategy) Interest in digital health and medical devices Join Us!
