Role Overview The Head of Enterprise Payments, Banking, and Retiree Services is a senior executive responsible for the end‑to‑end strategy, operational performance, and transformation of the firm’s global payments, banking, and retiree servicing capabilities.

This role oversees high‑volume, highly regulated services that are mission‑critical to client experience, liquidity, and financial integrity, while driving modernization through automation, data, and emerging technologies. This role operates within one of the world’s most systemically important financial institutions, supporting $54.5 trillion in assets under custody and/or administration across more than 100 markets.

The role balances day‑to‑day operational excellence with strategic transformation, ensuring scalable, resilient, and compliant services that support enterprise growth, evolving client needs, and regulatory expectations. Key Responsibilities Enterprise & Business Leadership Provide enterprise and business leadership for Payments, Banking Operations, and Retiree Services, ensuring alignment with firm strategy, growth priorities, and client commitments.

Serve as a trusted executive partner to business, product, technology, finance, and control leaders on cash movement, liquidity, servicing models, and operating strategy. Translate business strategy into clear operating priorities, financial outcomes, and measurable execution plans.

Global Operations & Integration Lead end‑to‑end global operations across payments, banking, and retiree services, ensuring high reliability, scalability, and integration across regions, platforms, and products. Drive standardized global operating models while accounting for local regulatory and market requirements.

Ensure seamless integration with upstream and downstream processes, including product, client service, finance, and data operations. Client & Market Leadership Champion a client‑first mindset, ensuring consistently accurate, timely, and transparent payment, banking, and retiree servicing experiences.

Partner with Product and Commercial teams to support new products, market expansion, and evolving client needs. Represent the firm externally with regulators, key clients, industry forums, and market stakeholders as a senior operational leader.

Risk, Regulatory & Control Excellence Own first‑line accountability for operational risk, regulatory compliance, and control execution across all in‑scope services. Establish and maintain strong governance, issue management, and escalation mechanisms.

Lead regulatory exams, audits, and remediation efforts in partnership with Risk, Compliance, and Legal, ensuring strong and sustainable outcomes. Technology & Transformation Drive modernization of payments, banking, and retiree servicing platforms through automation, AI, data, and workflow simplification.

Partner closely with Technology and Product to prioritize roadmaps, improve straight‑through processing, and enhance resiliency and scalability. Deliver measurable improvements in cost efficiency, speed, accuracy, and risk reduction. Culture & Talent Build and lead a high‑performing, globally distributed organization with strong leadership depth and succession.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and inclusion. Invest in talent development, skills modernization, and engagement to support long‑term operational excellence. Who we are looking for: Qualifications & Experience Proven executive leadership experience in enterprise payments, cash management, banking operations, or market infrastructure, ideally within a Fortune 500 and/or global systemically important financial institution.

Demonstrated success leading large‑scale, high‑throughput payments organizations, including real‑time, domestic, and cross‑border payment processing, liquidity operations, and settlement functions. Deep understanding of institutional payment flows, clearing and settlement models, correspondent banking, market utilities, and payment rails across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

Strong track record of driving payments modernization, including platform consolidation, straight‑through processing, real‑time and instant payments, resiliency, and cost optimization at enterprise scale. Exceptional executive presence with the credibility to engage and influence Board, C‑suite, regulators, market utilities, and senior institutional clients.

Leadership Attributes 20+ years of experience in financial services, payments, banking operations, consulting, or technology‑enabled transformation. Enterprise mindset with the ability to balance speed, resiliency, client experience, risk management, and financial performance in mission‑critical payment environments.

Strategic leader who can articulate a clear payments vision and translate it into disciplined execution and measurable outcomes. Highly collaborative executive who partners effectively across product, technology, treasury, risk, compliance, and external market participants.

Decisive, resilient, and comfortable leading always‑on, high‑risk, time‑critical operations through complexity and change. Leadership & Change Management Recognized change agent who drives a culture of operational discipline, innovation, and continuous improvement within regulated payments environments.

Proven ability to mobilize global stakeholders to deliver large‑scale payments transformation, including technology migration, control enhancement, and operating model redesign. Experience building and leading high‑performing payments leadership and transformation teams, with strong focus on capability building, succession planning, and talent development.

Salary Range: $300,000 - $412,500 Annual The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
