- Amazon's Global Operations Services & Support (GOSS) Compliance & Data Integrity (CDI) vertical is seeking a highly talented and motivated Senior Risk Manager to own complex risk quantification and business continuity programs within the Global Risk & Business Continuity function - a critical team that quantifies and contextualizes operational risk to influence strategic decisions across the $50B+ infrastructure portfolio, translating disruptions, vulnerabilities, and resilience gaps into financial and operational impact scenarios. A successful candidate for this role will have an established background in risk management, strong analytical acumen with risk modeling and scenario planning, experience leveraging quantitative methods for risk assessment, along with excellent project management and communication skills. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to operate independently with limited guidance in ambiguous problem spaces, building consensus across Director-level organizations while creating predictable risk assessment frameworks and process paths. The candidate will also have a proven track record of mentoring others, with a strong focus on operational excellence, process improvement, and measurable customer satisfaction. Key job responsibilities - Own and deliver complex risk quantification and business continuity programs spanning multiple teams—from design through launch, iteration, and deprecation. Build integrated risk assessment models, scenario planning frameworks, and continuity protocols for critical facilities. Negotiate program objectives, stakeholder obligations, and resource trade-offs across competing demands. Find paths forward where approaches, alignment, or data availability are unclear. - Partner with legal, policy, and regulatory teams to interpret risk drivers and business constraints. Oversee development of risk quantification models and scenario frameworks

Enlist senior Risk Managers for significantly complex scenarios. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Data Governance, Compliance Operations, Regional Compliance, and Regulatory Strategy teams to ensure risk models are built on reliable data and reflect external risk drivers. - Mentor and develop others
- contribute to promotion documents and talent discussions. Present risk assessments and strategic recommendations to Directors and VPs through clear narratives and 6-pagers. Improve and streamline processes

The Global Risk & Business Continuity function quantifies operational risk to influence strategic decisions across the infrastructure portfolio, translating disruptions and resilience gaps into financial and operational impact scenarios. This function is distinct from Compliance Operations (adherence to rules) and Strategic Enablement (capital decisions). Global Risk provides the quantified risk signals both rely on—drawing on Data Governance for inputs, Regulatory Strategy for external drivers, and Compliance Operations for control effectiveness data.
- Extensive experience in risk management experience, with expertise across multiple risk domains (operational risk, business continuity, enterprise risk management, or quantitative risk analysis)
- Master's degree or equivalent - Experience with quantitative risk modeling, including Monte Carlo simulation, sensitivity analysis
