maintaining a data-driven decision-making culture. The SSD Delivery Finance team seeks a Finance Manager. This role is responsible for key forecasting and reconciliation processes, to develop and implement a long range business plan, develop key processes around the organization's goals
to lead financial analyses of major business events. This role partners closely with a broad range of global finance and business leaders across tech and operations teams in order to design, develop
maintain performance measurements and reports on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business. The successful candidate will influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making
adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon. They bring excellent verbal and written communication skills. They prioritize the most impactful projects and programs that will drive Amazon forward. A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to innovate by building creative solutions with large-scale data mining tools, identifying the high-priority work and projects that maximize results for key stakeholders
solving complex problems that effect company-wide strategic decisions. Key job responsibilities - Identifies basic control risks, evaluates impact, proposes changes
implements improvements to remediate gaps - Delivers weekly/monthly financial close. - Uses financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets. - Works with a variety of data sources. Identifies incomplete or inaccurate data, identifies root causes of data issues, escalates discrepancies, fixes data where possible or partners to deliver a solution. - Communicates data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise
unambiguous manner. Adjusts style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly. - Identifies and implements solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize
simplify finance processes. - Drives own self-development in the Finance Community. Participates in events, initiatives
projects, then shares gained knowledge in and outside of your team. - Contributes to work life harmony by being a positive, collaborative
effective influencer to new team members as an indicator of operations excellence.
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics
a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
MBA and 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis
recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements
customer benefits) experience - MBA
CPA - Knowledge of SQL/ETL - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting
