The team’s mandate includes disambiguating structural relationships, so a strong grounding in applied theory is key to success in this position. The role will also own both production recommendation systems and feature generation for external systems, so experience with production-level development is important. This role will shape the strategic direction of the AWS Central Economics and Science team and collaborate with other science teams at AWS, especially those working on developing policies so that AWS sellers and partners meet customers where they are and help them grow. - Ph.D. in economics or related field. Multiple years experience in industry, consulting, government, academic research or equivalent.
- Proven track record in conducting research and solving business problems leveraging techniques from economics or related disciplines. Advanced coding ability in a scripting language such as Python. Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment. Effective verbal and written communications skills. Experience with big data tools such as Spark is a plus. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
