Title and Summary Senior Software Engineer Experience Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in UI / Frontend engineering, building scalable, high-performance, enterprise-grade applications.
Role Overview We’re looking for a senior UI engineer who can own frontend delivery end-to-end, influence architecture and design decisions, and elevate overall engineering standards. You’ll collaborate closely with backend teams, UX designers, and product stakeholders to deliver modern, accessible, and high-quality user interfaces.
Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable, high-performance UI applications using Angular and React Drive frontend architecture and technical design decisions for long-term scalability Build reusable, maintainable, and modular UI components Collaborate with backend engineers, UX designers, and product teams Mentor engineers and promote best practices in coding, testing, and design Lead initiatives around performance optimisation, accessibility, and UI quality Improve developer productivity, tooling, and engineering workflows Required Skills Strong expertise in Angular and React JS frameworks Deep knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and ES2025 features Proven experience in building scalable, reusable, and maintainable UI architectures Strong command of HTML5, CSS3, and modern CSS techniques Hands-on experience with advanced CSS layouts (Flexbox, Grid, responsive systems) Experience with modern styling approaches such as SCSS, CSS Modules, Styled Components, or Tailwind CSS Solid understanding of design systems, component-driven architecture, and UI theming strategies Good grasp of UI/UX design fundamentals — layout, typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy Ability to convert Figma/design mock-ups into pixel-perfect, production-ready UI Strong experience with unit testing and TDD/BDD practices Hands-on expertise in E2E automation using Cypress and Playwright Familiarity with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber or similar) Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins pipeline automation Working knowledge of web servers and application deployment principles Exposure to cloud platforms such as PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry) Experience with state management (Redux, NgRx, RxJS, Context API) Good understanding of REST APIs and frontend–backend integration Strong focus on performance optimisation, debugging, and rendering efficiency Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards and inclusive UI development Strong experience with version control (Git) and JIRA for agile delivery tracking Awareness or exposure to Agentic AI concepts / AI-assisted development workflows Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) Experience working on large-scale or enterprise-grade applications Additional Technical Strengths Expertise in modern frontend tooling (Webpack, Vite, npm/yarn) Strong debugging and performance profiling mindset Experience with responsive, mobile-first development Good understanding of cross-browser rendering and compatibility issues Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must: Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices; Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed; Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
