Machine Operator B Location: Solon, OH Hours: 3:00pm - 11:00pm Department: Manufacturing – Engine Repair Reports To: Manufacturing Manager Why This Role Matters As a Machine Operator B, you play a critical role in ensuring high-quality products are packaged safely, accurately, and efficiently.
This position helps drive production performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence. You will be a key contributor on the production floor, supporting team success, solving equipment issues, and helping develop less experienced operators.
What You Will Do Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot packaging and production equipment to meet daily production goals. Perform equipment setup, changeovers, startups, shutdowns, and minor servicing activities. Ensure products meet quality standards by identifying defects and documenting quality observations.
Review manufacturing work orders, bills of materials, and special instructions to ensure accurate production. Package finished products, palletize materials, apply labels, and prepare shipments. Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, while following all safety procedures.
Maintain accurate production, quality, and inventory records using company systems. Support line clearances, housekeeping activities, and continuous improvement efforts. Promote a strong safety culture by following EHS requirements, submitting safety observations, and recommending improvements.
Assist with training, mentoring, and leading Machine Operator C team members as needed. What You Will Bring 1–3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive, bottling, packaging, or a similar production environment. Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and following standard operating procedures.
Experience operating manufacturing or packaging equipment. Ability to read and interpret production documentation and work instructions. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company systems and applications. Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and maintain accurate records.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and leadership. Ability to work in a physically active manufacturing environment and lift up to 65 pounds as required. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.
Forklift certification and experience operating low-lift and sit-down forklift equipment. Experience with packaging, robotic equipment, automated production lines, or manufacturing changeovers. Previous experience training or mentoring production team members.
