Human Resources Generalist
Job Description
Position Objective: To effectively contribute to the overall success of the organization by ensuring the implementation of robust human resource policies, driving employee development, and fostering a safe and inclusive work environment. Essential Functions : Payroll Administration: Manage all aspects of payroll duties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Training Matrix Oversight : Maintain and monitor the Training Matrix, ensuring compliance with regulations, standards, and government-mandated training requirements. External Training Resources: Establish and nurture relationships with external training resources, including tech centers, trade schools, and training centers.
Employee Assistance : Serve as a knowledgeable resource, offering guidance and solutions to employees navigating workplace matters. Safety Compliance and Training: Collaborate with Operations and external resources to manage safety compliance and training.
Participate in the Safety Committee, oversee medical services referrals, manage light-duty and lost-time situations, and communicate with Worker’s Compensation carriers. Recruitment and Hiring: Take charge of the recruitment and hiring process for hourly, some salaried, and technical personnel.
Collaborate with supervisors/managers of the positions. HRIS Management: Maintain employee information and personnel files. Input and update employee data in the HRIS system, including hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics.
Employee Events: Assist with and collaborate on employee events, including picnics, holiday parties, and open houses. Benefit Program Support: Respond to inquiries regarding benefit programs. Educate and support employees in using self-service applications.
Arrange the annual health & welfare re-enrollment process and Wellness initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business with 3-5 years of prior experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Generalist background with broad knowledge and experience in training and development, employment, employee relations, and safety.
- Demonstrated successes in leadership and development in the Training and Development platform.
- Ability to handle highly confidential business and employee information with good judgment and discretion.
- Strong written/verbal communication skills, positive attitude, and effective collaboration with all levels within the organization.
- Independent and organized work style, effective time management, and ability to make independent decisions.
