Lead Material Handler, Nights Location: Ruther Glen, VA, USA - 10504 McKesson Drive Shift – Sunday - 4pm-12:30; Monday - Thursday 5pm - 1:30am Note - Shift subject to change based on the needs of the business. OT may be required and is mandatory if required.
This position start time may fluctuate and flexibility is required. Compensation will depend on the internal selected. A $1/hr shift differential will also apply Job Summary Responsible for leading a team of material handlers in a fast-paced warehouse environment, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of medical supplies.
Key Responsibilities * Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of a team of material handlers, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and training. * Oversee the receiving, unloading, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of medical products. * Ensure accurate inventory control through proper scanning, documentation, and cycle counting procedures. * Operate various material handling equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures. * Identify and resolve issues related to material flow, inventory discrepancies, and equipment malfunctions. * Communicate effectively with management, team members, and other departments to ensure smooth operations. * Assist with performance reviews and disciplinary actions for team members as needed. * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse processes.
Minimum Qualifications *Typically requires 5+ year(s) of related experience. Additional Skills and Qualifications * 5 years of experience in a warehouse or DC is preferred; Internal employees must have a minimum of 6 months or service to qualify to apply * Experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred * Proficiency in operating material handling equipment (e.g., Reach Truck, Tugger, Pallet jack) with current certification preferred.
Location is willing to train those with no experience, but, must be able to maintain certifications * Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and safety procedures. * Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. * Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse management systems such as Acumax (preferred) *Must be a positive change team member that demonstrates passion and commitment to the success of the team and individuals *Must have a positive attitude, be quality driven, organized, punctual, committed, self-motivated and have an excellent attendance record *Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality; self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong adherence to established procedures and safety protocols; comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment Physical Demands (may include all or some of the following, some only on occasion): General office demands Must be comfortable working at heights Must be comfortable working in refrigerated areas when required Ability to walk up to 10 miles throughout the course of a shift (steps vary per shift) Ability to lift 20-50 pounds repetitively throughout the course of a shift without assistance; ability to lift greater weights in a team lift (weight varies based on product) May sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day.
May sit or stand seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
