Accountant I Job Overview As an Accountant I, you will support accounting and financial reporting activities for multiple legal entities across Europe. You will play an important role in month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, financial controls, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop accounting expertise while collaborating with international finance teams and contributing to process improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Support month-end close activities for multiple European entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation. Maintain General Ledger accounts and ensure the accuracy of balance sheet and profit and loss accounts. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist with monthly financial reporting and analysis of key account movements and variances. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and enhance operational efficiency. Develop expertise in finance systems including PeopleSoft, SAP, BlackLine, and other accounting tools. Build strong working relationships with business partners and collaborate effectively with global finance teams.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Minimum of 1 year of accounting, finance, or related experience. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, or equivalent is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional working proficiency in English. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a multinational or shared services environment.
Exposure to month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation activities. Knowledge of BlackLine or similar reconciliation tools. Understanding of internal controls and audit requirements. What Will Make You Successful Proactive and solution-oriented approach.
