XPG Cross-Divisional Programs Group The ISG Cross Divisional Programs Group (XPG) provides IT program & project management alongside business analyst expertise to deliver global & regional business, regulatory and other top technology initiatives across multiple markets and asset classes.
XPG’s mandate is to manage and deliver transformational programs for the ISG department and the Firm as robustly and as efficiently as possible, aligned with business and technology strategy. XPG is a center for program management best practices together with innovation, automation & talent development in these areas.
Profile Description As part of XPG’s continued growth and investment in strategic program delivery, we are seeking a Vice President, Technical Program Manager based in New York to join the XPG team and support the delivery of strategic technology transformation initiatives across the Firm.
The VP will be a key member of the ISG Mainframe Decommission Program team, supporting an ED lead and contributing to program strategy, execution, and technical transformation initiatives. The role will focus on driving program management efficiencies through automation, data analytics, and emerging technologies, while supporting the delivery of complex cross-divisional programs across Morgan Stanley.
What you’ll do in the role: Serve as a senior member of the ISG Mainframe Decommission program team, collaborating with cross-divisional stakeholders. Support problem solving and project governance across the program as required Drive the development of project data models and automation solutions to enhance program management efficiency.
Contribute to the adoption and integration of advanced technologies, including Power BI and Generative AI, within program management processes. Support the establishment of XPG’s presence in Montreal and foster collaboration with technology and business teams.
Ensure effective stakeholder engagement, risk management, and governance across assigned projects. What you’ll bring to the role: Minimum 8+ years of experience in program or project management within financial services or technology. Proven experience with Agile methodologies; Agile knowledge/experience is essential.
Strong technical background with hands-on experience in python, automation, data modeling, and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI). Familiarity with Generative AI technologies and platforms (e.g., LLM’s, prompting for business outcomes, co-pilot navigation) Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and change management skills.
Demonstrated independence and ability to drive initiatives with minimal supervision. Experience mentoring and developing junior team members. Location & Travel Based in New York, NY. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
