A Day in the Life As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and enable multiple software engineering functions, including Development and Test, to deliver high-quality software products in a regulated environment.

You will balance execution, people leadership, technical strategy, and organizational priorities while ensuring predictable delivery, product quality, and compliance with applicable standards. In this role, you will collaborate closely with architects, product management, quality, regulatory, and engineering teams to drive technical direction, align development efforts with product roadmaps and user needs, and build strong stakeholder partnerships that enable successful program execution and long-term platform evolution.

You will lead software engineers and technical leads across multiple engineering functions, providing people leadership, execution oversight, technical guidance, and organizational development while fostering a culture of quality, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Proven experience working with cross-functional software engineering teams, including Development, Test/QA, and DevOps functions. Strong background in medical device software or other regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, life sciences, automotive, aerospace, industrial automation), with a solid understanding of compliance, quality, and product development processes.

Proven experience leading software engineering teams developing desktop applications, including Windows-based solutions using technologies such as WPF, WinForms, WinUI, C++, .NET, or similar desktop application frameworks. Experience developing software for connected medical devices, patient monitoring systems, device interoperability solutions, or real-time data acquisition platforms.

Ability to guide technical decisions across desktop, cloud, edge, and connected medical device architectures while ensuring scalability, cybersecurity, quality, and compliance requirements are met. Demonstrated success delivering complex software products in a fast-paced Agile environment, with clear accountability for scope, schedule, quality, and execution.

Experience working closely with Systems Engineering teams on requirements definition, system architecture, traceability, risk management, and end-to-end verification activities. Working knowledge of industry standards, quality systems, and regulatory processes such as FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971, or equivalent regulated product development frameworks.

Understanding of cybersecurity principles, secure software development practices, vulnerability management, and product security requirements for connected medical devices and healthcare systems. Strong leadership skills with a track record of building, coaching, and developing high-performing engineering teams.

Experience in talent management, including hiring, performance management, succession planning, employee development, and organizational capability building. Proven ability to drive engineering excellence through Agile practices, DevOps adoption, automation, quality metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering effectively with Product Management, Program Management, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical/Domain experts, and senior leadership teams. Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to align global and cross-functional teams toward common objectives.

Experience managing multiple priorities, risks, dependencies, and resource allocations while maintaining predictable delivery commitments. Data-driven approach to execution, utilizing engineering metrics, quality indicators, and delivery KPIs to guide decision-making and improve outcomes.

Accountable for engineering execution, product quality, team health, talent development, and predictable delivery outcomes across assigned programs and product areas. Required Knowledge and Experience: B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. 17+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership responsibility for teams delivering desktop, connected, medical device, or healthcare software products.

Strong knowledge of desktop application architecture, design patterns, and technologies such as WPF, WinForms, WinUI, C#, .NET, C++, or similar frameworks. Experience delivering software that interfaces with medical devices, monitoring systems, or other connected hardware\software platforms.

Demonstrated experience driving engineering excellence through Agile methodologies, CI/CD, DevOps practices, automation, and quality-focused development processes. Experience working in regulated industries such as medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, automotive, aerospace, or industrial automation, with knowledge of applicable quality and compliance frameworks.
