Position Summary We are seeking a motivated Full Stack Application Engineer to join our Servicing Value Stream team. This role is ideal for an engineer with either: Strong Angular development skills and working knowledge of Java, or Strong Java development skills and working knowledge of Angular.
The successful candidate will work across frontend and backend technologies, collaborate closely with product managers and technical leads, and contribute to the delivery of scalable, high-quality digital solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their full-stack engineering capabilities while working on impactful products supporting Vanguard's UK and European business.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications. Build and enhance backend services using Java and Spring Boot. Develop and support modern web applications using Angular. Design and consume RESTful APIs and web services.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Leads, Architects, and Engineers to deliver business solutions. Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices. Support cloud-native application development and deployment within AWS.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions. Contribute to platform modernization, third-party integrations, and continuous improvements. Take ownership of assigned work items and proactively drive delivery. Operate effectively in an Agile environment using a pull-based work model.
Required Qualifications and Tech Skills Minimum 3-5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and back-end architecture. Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Computer Science, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.
Experience in software application development. Strong proficiency in either: Angular with working knowledge of Java, or Java (Core Java/Spring Boot) with working knowledge of Angular. Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and web services.
Understanding of object-oriented programming principles. Experience with modern software development practices and Agile methodologies. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git. Basic understanding or exposure to AWS cloud technologies.
Exposure to services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, or CloudFormation is preferred. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to AWS services and cloud-native applications. Exposure to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Experience within a product-based organization.
Knowledge of Financial Services or Investment Management domains. Understanding of modern frontend development best practices. Soft Skills & Behavioral Expectations We are looking for candidates who demonstrate: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
