- Associate Consultant Oncology- Competitive Intelligence CoE Role Purpose: The Associate Consultant – Oncology will deliver high-impact competitive intelligence and market insights to support strategic decision-making for global Pharma clients. The role requires deep oncology domain knowledge, rigorous secondary research capabilities
- the ability to synthesize complex clinical and commercial data into clear, actionable, client-ready outputs. Principal Accountabilities
- Oncology-Focused Research & Analysis Deliver ad-hoc and structured oncology intelligence projects, including Continuous monitoring newsletters, competitive landscape assessments, pipeline analyses, market sizing, company and product profiling
- industry trend evaluations Develop a strong understanding of oncology disease areas, treatment paradigms, standards of care, emerging mechanisms of action
- clinical development pathways. Conduct in-depth secondary research using public sources, scientific literature, conference materials
- IQVIA proprietary data assets to address specific client questions. Integrate qualitative insights (clinical rationale, trial design, competitive positioning) with quantitative analyses (market size, growth, patient segmentation, market share, therapy adoption) to produce robust insights
- Competitive Intelligence & Market Insights Analyze competitor strategies including product attributes, clinical differentiation, pricing dynamics, lifecycle management, sales force activities
- promotional approaches within oncology markets Monitor and interpret oncology clinical trial pipelines, including early- and late-stage assets, biomarkers, combination strategies
- key inflection points. Identify market trends, unmet needs, competitive threats
- opportunities relevant to client portfolios and strategic priorities
- Project Execution & Delivery Deliver high-quality, client-ready deliverables (PowerPoint storylines, dashboards, summaries) with minimal supervision, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strategic relevance. Effectively plan and manage own workstreams within broader project plans
- adapt to scope changes and evolving client requirements while maintaining delivery timelines. Proactively identify risks, data gaps, and quality concerns, and escalate issues to project leads in a timely and solution-oriented manner.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement Actively seek opportunities to enhance analytical approaches, improve research efficiency
- challenge conventional ways of working, particularly within oncology CI workflows Apply prior oncology project experience to refine methodologies and recommend practical enhancements to existing analytical frameworks
- Communication & Stakeholder Interaction Communicate confidently and professionally in internal and client-facing discussions, contributing meaningfully to team meetings and project reviews. Leverage past examples, prior deliverables
- internal knowledge repositories (e.g., presentation libraries, image banks) to enhance output quality and consistency Collaborate effectively across geographies and functions, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a consultative mindset
- Qualifications Graduation in MBBS/MD/Pharma, or PhD. in oncology/life sciences. 2+ years of hands-on experience in oncology consulting, competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic analytics Demonstrated expertise in oncology therapeutic areas, with experience spanning clinical, commercial, or competitive intelligence use cases. Strong analytical thinking, data interpretation, and data visualization skills, with the ability to translate complexity into executive-ready insights Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills
