- The Payroll Officer will join IMC’s Finance team in Sydney, working directly with the Payroll Manager to execute and govern payroll across 5+ APAC jurisdictions, supporting approximately 350+ employees. The role sits within a lean, two-person payroll team and plays a critical part in ensuring payroll across IMC’s APAC operations runs accurately, compliantly, and on time.
- A key near-term priority is supporting the global payroll migration to Neeyamo
- a significant transformation project that will give you hands-on experience in system implementation, data validation, and cross-regional coordination. Beyond the migration, this is a broad and substantive role from day one in a lean, high-performing team where you will own real outcomes rather than support a large department.
- Your Core Responsibilities
- Payroll Execution
- Execute end-to-end APAC payroll on a monthly cycle
- Process payroll mutations: new starters, terminations, salary changes, allowances, and one-off payments - accurately and on time
- Maintain and reconcile payroll records, verify payroll data, and resolve discrepancies before payroll close
- Manage payroll overpayments end-to-end, including investigations, recovery processes, and repayment arrangements
- Prepare payroll journals and reconciliations for posting to the GL in Workday
- Statutory & Compliance
- Manage Australian statutory payroll obligations, including Single Touch Payroll (STP), Payday Super (effective July 2026), payroll tax across applicable states, and superannuation
- Support Hong Kong MPF, Korea social insurance, and other jurisdiction-specific payroll compliance obligations
- Ensure payroll setup meets company requirements and records are aligned to policy and regulatory guidelines across all entities
- Support tax and finance teams with payroll-related data for BAS, FBT, and year-end statutory reporting
- Global Payroll Migration to Neeyamo
- Play an active role in IMC’s global payroll migration to Neeyamo, validating data, supporting UAT, coordinating with regional teams, and ensuring a smooth transition without payroll disruption
- Stakeholder & Team
- Partner with HR, Finance, and regional teams to ensure payroll inputs are accurate, timely, and complete
- Respond to employee payroll queries promptly and professionally; this is a service function and accuracy of communication matters as much as accuracy of processing
- Support the Payroll Manager across ad hoc projects, system improvements, and process automation initiatives
- Your Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of end-to-end payroll experience
- Strong working knowledge of Australian statutory payroll obligations, including STP, superannuation, payroll tax, and Payday Super
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Experience with multi-country payroll platforms such as Neeyamo, ADP, Ramco, or equivalent is preferred but not required
- Workday experience, including exposure to GL integration and journal preparation, is an advantage but not required
- Working knowledge of HK MPF, Korea National Pension Service, or Japan social insurance is an advantage but not required
- Deadline-driven, with the discipline to manage fixed payroll cycles without exception
- Self-sufficient, asking the right questions without needing significant handholding
- Service-minded, recognising that employees depend on accurate and timely payroll
- Curious about technology and process improvement, with an interest in automation
