Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicine The District Manager has overall responsibility for leading and developing a sales team that drives high impact customer interactions, yielding strong sales performance in an ethical and compliant manner.

The District Manager inspires accountability, initiative, creativity, and engagement across their team while exceeding sales forecasts and operating within assigned budgets. They are also accountable for embodying and communicating Intra-Cellular’s corporate vision of delivering innovative treatments to improve the lives of individuals with neuropsychiatric, neurologic, and other disorders to improve the lives and reduce the burden on patients and caregivers.

The District Manager will have responsibility for staffing and developing their team. Responsibility also includes the creation of local strategic plans that are driven by high impact resource allocation decisions. DMs will assume ownership and the management of a wide range of customer interactions as well as accountability for the highly effective application of the budget and expenses within their assigned customer base.

We are looking for first-line leaders who have a passion for patients, tenacity for results, ability to adapt and evolve, and entrepreneurial thirst for working in an energizing and winning culture. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of customer-driven district strategy and a coordinated district business plan aligned with business priorities and measurable outcomes.

Directly supervise Sales Specialists within the district, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and compensation execution in alignment with company practices. Provide regular field-based and virtual coaching to strengthen selling effectiveness, clinical execution using approved resources, and territory business planning discipline.

Drive demand generation leadership across multiple settings and lead demand generation and care transitions execution within local community hospitals as applicable to the district. Maintain expert knowledge of approved clinical information and relevant guidelines for the Neuroscience portfolio and coach the team to apply them appropriately in customer interactions.

Analyze district performance, market dynamics, and execution inputs to identify gaps and opportunities and convert insights into clear priorities and actions. Partner cross-functionally with Sales leadership, Medical Affairs, and Marketing to deliver coordinated execution and improve customer experience.

Set clear expectations for performance and behaviors, address performance gaps promptly, and reinforce a culture of accountability, inclusion, and team effectiveness. Adhere to healthcare compliance policies and guidelines while modeling a strong compliance mindset and reinforcing accountability across the team.

Use evolving, approved AI-enabled tools where available to enhance planning, opportunity identification, and performance insights while maintaining privacy, data integrity, and policy alignment Qualifications / Requirements Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree required; MS/MBA/PhD preferred

Required

  • A valid driver’s license issued in one (1) of the fifty (50) United States.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of relevant professional experience in sales and/or cross-functional commercial roles within the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or healthcare industry.
  • The ability to travel up to 50%, which may include overnight and weekend travel.
  • Must live in the geography and/or be willing to relocate to the geography.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: experience driving cross-functional alignment, removing barriers, and mobilizing resources to achieve shared district outcomes.
  • Leading Others: Experience gaining commitment and action through guided leadership, setting clear expectations, and leading the team through change with accountability and empathy.
  • Coaching: Experience conducting structured coaching with clear development objectives, timely feedback, and follow-up that leads to sustained improvement.
  • Developing Others: Experience providing ongoing feedback and creating learning and development opportunities that unlock potential and improve performance.
  • Strategic Thinking: Experience translating business goals and data into actionable district plans, clear priorities, and execution expectations.
  • Data Savvy: Experience using performance data and insights to identify gaps, make decisions
  • coach others to improve execution, including using evolving approved AI-enabled tools where available while maintaining privacy, data integrity

Preferred

  • Experience in the Neuroscience therapeutic area.
  • Experience with large account management and access and reimbursement dynamics.
  • Prior direct people management experience, including performance management and development planning.
