Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the payer contracting strategy for Cardinal Health's specialty pharmacy business, with a focus on building a national payer network from the ground up Identify, cultivate
  • own strategic relationships for medical and pharmacy benefit payers: commercial payers, PBMs, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicaid managed care organizations
  • other payer stakeholders Lead negotiations and execution of specialty pharmacy participation agreements, reimbursement contracts
  • other payer arrangements that support business growth Own a payer contracting pipeline and deliver against established performance goals, including contracted lives, executed agreements, network expansion
  • revenue growth objectives Serve as the relationship owner for key payer accounts, conducting regular business reviews Partner with Advanced Therapy Solutions, Legal
  • Finance teams to ensure successful contract implementation and ongoing account performance Monitor market, reimbursement
  • network trends and provide strategic recommendations to strengthen Cardinal Health's payer access strategy and competitive position Qualifications: Education: BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field preferred 8+ years of experience in specialty payer contracting, PBM payer relations, specialty pharmacy business development, and/or healthcare account management preferred Demonstrated success negotiating and executing payer contracts and specialty pharmacy participation agreements for limited and exclusive drug agreements Proven track record of developing strategic payer relationships and delivering measurable business growth through account development and contract execution Established relationships with payer and PBM executives and a demonstrated ability to leverage those relationships to secure new contracts and strategic partnerships Experience working within specialty pharmacy, provider, health system, payer, PBM
