The Pricing Strategy Testing & Validation Analyst is responsible for performing independent validation, quality assurance, and analytical review of pricing strategies, pricing configurations, pricing terms, and pricing outcomes prior to production deployment.
This role serves as the designated checker, ensuring pricing logic, discounts, rates, fees, and contractual pricing terms are accurately configured, thoroughly tested, and compliant with business requirements. A critical component of this role is leveraging advanced SAS and Python programming skills to validate pricing results, identify discrepancies, uncover data quality issues, detect calculation defects, and perform detailed analytical reviews of pricing implementations.
The analyst will also develop automated testing frameworks, validation scripts, and data quality checker process to improve testing efficiency, repeatability, and accuracy. The analyst will coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), execute test scenarios, validate results, identify defects, and provide release sign-off recommendations while ensuring strong governance and control standards
Responsibilities
- Review and validate pricing configurations against approved business requirements, pricing strategy documents, and contractual pricing terms.
- Verify the accuracy of pricing terms, discounts, markups, promotions, fees, surcharges, rate structures, and pricing calculations.
- Perform independent checker reviews to confirm pricing logic, configuration accuracy, and expected pricing outcomes.
- Utilize SAS to analyze pricing datasets, compare expected versus actual pricing results, and identify gaps, anomalies, and pricing discrepancies.
- Conduct detailed data validations to ensure pricing configurations are accurately implemented across systems.
- Investigate and resolve pricing calculation variances through data analysis and root cause identification.
- Develop and execute SAS programs to validate pricing terms, rates, discounts, fees, and promotional offers.
- Analyze large and complex data sets using SAS to identify trends, defects, data quality issues, control gaps, and implementation risks.
- Perform reconciliation of pricing outputs between source systems, test environments, and expected business results.
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts and testing frameworks to validate pricing configurations, pricing logic, rates, discounts, fees, and contractual pricing terms and validation of Datahub tables.
- Utilize Python, SAS, SQL, and analytics tools to automate test execution, perform data validation, reconcile pricing outputs, and identify pricing discrepancies.
- Design and implement automated regression testing processes using AI to improve testing coverage and reduce manual effort.
- Build and maintain reusable Python utilities for test data generation, data comparison, exception reporting, and pricing validation.
- Partner with business and technology teams to investigate data anomalies and ensure resolution of pricing-related defects.
- Leverage statistical and analytical techniques to assess pricing accuracy and identify potential impacts to customers and business performance.
- Coordinate end-to-end UAT activities with business stakeholders, pricing teams, product teams, and technology partners.
- Develop UAT plans, test schedules, test scripts, and test timelines.
- Facilitate test execution activities and monitor testing progress.
- Track defects, document issues, and ensure timely resolution and retesting.
- Organize UAT status meetings and provide regular testing updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure testing coverage adequately addresses pricing scenarios, business rules, and data validation requirements.
- Design and execute test cases covering pricing scenarios, exception handling, boundary conditions, negative testing, and regression testing.
- Validate pricing outcomes across multiple products, channels, customer segments, and pricing programs.
- Perform regression testing to assess the impact of pricing changes on existing functionality and downstream systems.
- Document test results, supporting evidence, defects, and validation outcomes.
- Ensure strong governance, controls, and audit readiness over pricing implementation processes.
- Identify pricing discrepancies, configuration risks, calculation errors, and process gaps.
- Escalate critical defects and issues impacting pricing accuracy, compliance, or customer experience.
- Support production readiness reviews and provide validation recommendations for deployment approvals
Qualifications
- 8-12 years of experience Advanced SAS programming skills are required (must-have).
- Proven experience using SAS to analyze large datasets, perform data validation, reconcile results, identify gaps, detect issues, and support testing activities.
- Proven experience using SAS and Python to analyze large datasets, perform data validation, reconcile results, identify gaps, detect issues, and support testing activities.
- Experience developing and executing UAT, system testing, regression testing, and validation processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality.
