This is a great opportunity for someone Lead, plan and execute Safe working activities throughout the Rio Tinto network. Undertake task specific safe working to support the day-to-day track protection requirements for all rail maintenance activities.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead and execute safeworking activities across the RTIO rail network, including multi‑contractor obstructions.
  • Support day-to-day track protection requirements and ensure full compliance with legislative, RTIO Operating Rules, and safeworking system standards.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders (Train Control, Network Specialists, Planning teams) to coordinate effective obstruction planning and execution.
  • Drive safeworking support for Renewals, Maintenance and Major Projects across inland and coastal operations.
  • Evaluate and monitor safeworking personnel and Contract Partners through in‑field interactions, inspections and audits.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and lead safe work behaviours, including support for integrated systems and new technologies.
