As a Device Software Development Manager on the Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) team, you will design and develop embedded software for Amazon Leo's satellite and ground systems. You’ll work on fault-tolerant, real-time platforms, collaborating closely with hardware, systems
- product teams to deliver secure, reliable
- high-performance embedded solutions. Key job responsibilities - Work with peer teams and customers to design suitable platform software systems and interfaces with underlying hardware. - Define, build and lead the SW integration team that is responsible for all embedded deliverables - Develop a strategic plan for the growth of the team, both from a software and integrated mission outcomes perspective. - Hire & Develop a diverse team of software engineers. - Collaborate with your fellow team members to integrate various system elements, both hardware and software. Security Clearance : This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI. About the team Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) is a multidisciplinary team developing targeted and scalable solutions for custom satellite and ground applications. ALG Device Software focuses on embedded software solutions for custom products supporting U.S. and allied government customers. We collaborate closely with hardware and systems teams to deliver secure, high-performance solutions for mission-critical applications.
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience - 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification
- livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
